“WHAT DO YOU GAIN?”

Three things have become clear, 1. Our world has become a dark placeb1316b9b609d564c3f854a2842656bd65682171829979325446.jpg, filled with many diversions and temptations available to lead many astray. What will be revealed in the paragraphs ahead is why our light becomes powerful. 2. What our light is and how it is obtained 3. As well, why, where, and when to use our light, gaining its maximum effectiveness in defeating evil and eliminating darkness.

OPENING PRAYER by Robert
Father in heaven, as a humble servant I place before your throne this petition to 3a25110b93f0bf9972419b18943848597144016735256266217.jpgbreak the bonds of error from the minds, of those in the darkness, shrouding our world. I petition Lord, for the breaking and removal of all blinders from their eyes and minds, too receive and discern your truth. Lift them out of the darkness, so they recognize the awakened light within. In preparation for their journey forward, as Disciples of your Son. Father fill these newborns and awakened children with wisdom and determination, so they might enhance their lights and sharpen their two-edged swords. Bring us spiritual strength that we might go forward as brightly shining stars guiding many through the darkness in your name. All this I pray in the name of Yeshua, Amen and, Amen.

OPENING STATEMENT by Robert

Our Lord, Yeshua, with His disciples, journeying throughout the Lands, was continually instructing the Disciples. First how to recognize, His light within them, then the combining and use of such light, which was awakened in each Disciple, upon answering the call to follow Yeshua. As we find occurring in every individual coming to Salvation. Now more than anywhere in our walk, our hope and devotion must be focused on receiving, spiritual, food for our souls, broadening our hope and deepening our relationship, and ultimately drawing us ever closer to Yeshua. Being Cautious, understanding, hope is but fancy and will deceive us, if not anchored with God (as the goodness hoped for, and the truth hoped in), and which is not of his working in us.

Matthew Henry’s commentary of Romans 15 reveals “God is the God of hope. He is the foundation on which our hope is built, and he is the builder that doth himself raise it: he is both the object of our hope and the author of it.”

09bac08057262e95be67655cec6dbda05665112687973947867.jpgThrough Hope we recognize, God spoke, the law of the Ten Commandments, a law of God’s making. For Hope to flourish in our lives and walk, we must deepen our discernment and understanding with all the Ten Commandments, as an example, “Thou Shall Not Steal,” recognize; theft can be committed in the spirit. The best example I can relate is quoted from the Aug 16, 2019, article “https://romboughrobert.wordpress.com/2019/08/16/pride-vanity-luxury-sensuality/ published in Trumpeter’s Call through WordPress.com.

“It cites “adultery,” can be committed in the heart. Matthew 5:28, But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” We find both together, Psalms 119:49. Thy word – there is God the object; on which thou hast caused me to hope – there is God the author of our hope, 1 Peter 1:3.
Paul prays the following, asking of God, not for himself, but for others, as a result of hope. So Believers might be filled with all joy and peace through belief.95fcc68dc660375f6b7d5921ed2ebb0f1341031789149386324.jpg
Matthew Henry comments, “Joy and Peace are two of those things in which the kingdom of God consists, Romans 14:17. Joy in God, peace of conscience, both arising from a sense of our justification; see Romans 5:1, Romans 5:2. Joy and peace in our own bosoms would promote a cheerful unity and unanimity with our brethren. Observe,
(1) How desirable this joy and peace are: they are filling. Carnal joy puffs up the soul, but cannot fill it; therefore in laughter, the heart is sad. True, heavenly, spiritual joy is filling to the soul; it has a satisfaction in it, answerable to the soul’s vast and just desires. Thus does God satiate and replenish the weary soul. Nothing more than this joy, only more of it, even the perfection of it in glory, is the desire of the soul that hath it, Psalms 4:6, Psalms 4:7; Psalms 36:8; Psalms 63:5; Psalms 65:4
(2) How it is attainable [1] By prayer. We must go to God for it; he will for this be enquired of. Prayer fetches in spiritual joy and peace [2] By believing; that is the d63aa23ef86b08cf67031c8e0aead42b3314345903335368544.jpg

means to be used. It is vain and flashy, and transient joy, that is the product of fancy; true substantial joy is the fruit of faith.
Believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable, 1 Peter 1:8. It is owing to the weakness of our faith that we are so much wanting in joy and peace. Only believe; believe the goodness of Yeshua, the love of Christ, the promises of the covenant, and the joys and glories of heaven; let faith be the substance and evidence of these things, and the result must, needs, be joy and peace.
Observe, It is all joy and peace – all sorts of true joy and peace. When we come to God by prayer we must enlarge our desires; we are not straitened in him, why should we be straitened in ourselves? Ask for all joy; open thy mouth wide, and he will fill it through the power of the Holy Ghost.
The joy and peace of believers arise chiefly from their hopes. “What is laid out upon them is but little, compared with what is laid up for them; therefore the more hope they have the more joy and peace they have. We do then abound in hope when we hope for great things from God and are greatly established and confirmed in these hopes.
Christians should desire and labour after an abundance of hope, such hope as will not make any ashamed. This is through the power of the Holy Ghost. The same d66f3c5ce8da8a61c2bce97371c1a07a9072459061659743266.jpg

almighty power that works grace begets and strengthens this hope. Our own power will never reach it; and therefore where this hope is and is abounding, the blessed Spirit must have all the glory
Joshua had been a close follower of Moses in many things, and now he follows him by calling the people together to hear his closing words. On the edge of the future life, on the eve of giving in his own account, in the crisis when men are most disposed to utter the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, he calls his children around him to hear his parting words.
He knows, as Moses also knew, the impulsive, fitful temper of the people. All the more did he regard it as desirable not to omit such an opportunity of impression ”All pathetic occasions,” it has been well said, “should be treasured in the memory; the last interview, the last sermon, the last prayer, the last fond, lingering look; all these things may be frivolously treated as sentimental; “but he who treats them so is a fool in his heart.” Whatever can subdue the spirit, chasten the character, and

enlarge the charity of the soul, “should be encouraged as a ministry from God!”
The Lord your God is He that fighteth for you; therefore “cleave unto the Lord your God.” You owe everything to the Lord; therefore render to Him all His due. Let Him receive from you in the proportion in which He has given to you; let Him be honoured by you in the ratio in which you have been blessed by Him; and see that none of you ever, to the last day of your lives, give the faintest countenance to the idolatry of your neighbours, or consent to any entangling connection that would furnish a temptation to join in their wickedness.

CLOSING STATEMENT by Robert
We hear from Matthew Henry (1662 – 1774) comment on Pauls rendition while in
Rome:
We must be forward to observe and commend in others, that which is excellent and praise-worthy; it is part of the present recompence of virtue and usefulness and will be of use to quicken others to a holy emulation.
It was a great credit to the Romans to be commended by Paul, a man of such great judgment and integrity, too skilful to be deceived and too honest to flatter. Paul had no personal acquaintance with these Believers, and yet he says he was persuaded of their excellencies, though he knew them only be hearsay.
“As we must not, on the one hand, be so simple as to believe every word; so, on the

other hand, we must not be so skeptical as to believe nothing; but especially we must be forward to believe good concerning others: in this case charity hopeth all things, and believeth all things, and (if the probabilities be any way strong, as here they were) is persuaded.”
“It is safer to err on this side. Now observe what it was that he commended them for 1. That they were full of goodness; therefore the more likely to take in good part what he had written, and to account it a kindness; and not only so, but to comply with it, and to put it in practice, especially that which relates to their union and to the healing of their differences. A good understanding of one another, and goodwill to one another, would soon put an end to strife.”
“Filled with all knowledge. Goodness and knowledge together! A very rare and an excellent conjunction; the head and the heart of the new man. All knowledge, all necessary knowledge, all the knowledge of those things which belong to their everlasting peace.”
“Able to admonish one another. To this, there is a further gift requisite, even the gift of utterance. Those that have goodness and knowledge should communicate what they have for the use and benefit of others.” In Romans 15 we are shown; “God is the God of hope. He is the foundation on which our hope is built, and he is the builder that doth himself raise it: he is both the object of our hope and the author of it.” That is what every follower of Yeshua “GAINS.”
