TRUMPETER'S CALL

THE SECOND LESSON IN PART ONE IS TAKEN FROM MATTHEW 22:1 – 14

The Lord is revealing Himself in a very clear light, that He is the central person of the Kingdom of Heaven. I believe in this Parable the Lord is answering His opposition, but is not speaking to their verbal abuses, but is addressing the thoughts which were in their hearts.

The Lord knows men’s thoughts, for He is the discerner of them. In this Parable, the Lord’s true Royalty is seen where He is revealing Himself as the King and the King’s Son (Ps.72:1).

I recognize that the Lord made it a practice to take the subjects of His lessons from the persons who were present or from the circumstances of times, persons and places (Matt. 16:6; John 4:7-10; 6:26-27; 7:37).

Our gospel preparation is then represented as a Feast which a King would make at a marriage of His Son. We see Christ as the Groom and the Church as the bride, It is important for us to know that the gospel covenant is a marriage covenant, between Christ and His believers.

So then it is during the preparation of the marriage feast we begin to see and learn that it is through the hearing of the gospel, we hear the Kings bidding, which is an open invitation to ALL, so NONE might be EXCLUDED, except those who would choose to EXCLUDE themselves.

Knowing this is a marriage covenant, we know there will be a meal prepared. But it won’t just be a dinner, instead, it will be a Royal Wedding Feast, as it a feast prepared by the King. The feast is a Spiritual Banquet set in place for those willing to partake. We believe the menu consists of the following blessings, pardon of sin, the favor of God, peace of conscience, the promises of the gospels, the comforts of the Spirit, and a well-grounded hope of eternal life.

The warning in this Parable is not to slight the Lord’s call by indifference to our condition and assume we can just attend this Regal Banquet when we feel the time is right or suits us. We cannot take the position that it is not worth visiting, because we can feast just as well at home.

The Lord in this Parable is showing us how to measure what our response to His call has been. The question we feel should be asked, “is,” have we like those guests in the Parable taken His call lightly because other things are more important to us. Are we like those in Luke 14:18 who found land and are diverted by the fact that there is always something to look after on it; or are we like the merchant who feels he must be diligent in his business.

This Parable shows there are going to be temptations in whatever we do and should be taken as a warning that whatever we have of the World, care must be taken to keep it out of our hearts so it won’t come between the Lord and us.

We are living in troubled times, times of great temptation, times where ones true walk is going to be tested not for what it is worth but for how deep it is. The world is turning against the truth and the wisdom of the Holy Spirits teachings and guidance and the true Love of our Father. My heart grieves every day as I watch and hear how the atrocities of this world are manifesting in man’s minds and are being acted upon. Truly measure your position in our Lord do not take it for granted or be complacent with it. Be honest with yourself as you measure its true depth do not rely on Worldly teachings of the hirelings which control today’s church system. Heed the Trumpeter’s Call return to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures let them be the food of your spirit and the true measuring stick. Hear the soundings of the many Trumpets heed their warnings as heavy darkness is coming upon us and your light is going to be tested if it shines through or is going to be smothered or possibly even extinguished.

Father our Lord and protector hear this prayer for those who hear your call to return to your teachings fill them with the Holy Spirit Father that he may deepen their discernment and become brighter lights so those lost in the deepening darkness falling upon us, will become the light on the mountain guiding those seeking your will and compassion will find your comfort again, I pray, Father, for the strengthening of the few who hear that they may be protected and filled with a spirit of hope that emanates out as your light of guidance and protection I pray in your name Yahweh Amen and Amen

In the mid 60’s the City of Edmonton Aldermen were faced with an economic decision which would greatly affect the future of the City. The premise of the decision was whether to fund and build a new stadium to support the thriving Football team Edmonton Eskimo’s and Professional Hockey team known as the Edmonton Flyers. 

The problem facing the city council was whether they should use public funds to build the arena which was to be a multi faceted building  that  would be the home of the Eskimos and the Flyers and several other sports teams and upcoming entertainment events. The building itself was an architecural first in North America and would have been a political as well as a civic Jewel. It would have put Edmonton on the world stage and brought the City into an economic boom not seen before in this area of the province, it would as well put it well ahead of its southern rival City of Calgary. In its wisdom the Council chose mediocrity as its course and turned the decision over to the citizens to determine the fate of the Omniplex project in an upcoming civic election. There were seveal debates on this topic over the next 6 weeks  and when the day of the vote came the citizens spoke loud and clear and turned the project down.

Now lets fast forward to 2012 where this City is again faced with building a new Sporting Arena that would be the Jewel of Arenas in North America. If approved it would again put Edmonton on the Global map where it had been elevated too by the success of the Edmonton Oilers fantastic run of five Stanely Cups. Beyond that achievement the City became known because of its complete support of its sport teams it was the envy of many larger Cities. Edmonton was being spoken of in all circles of politics commerce and political fields during this era of success.

In life Modesty and mediocrity have there place however when it comes to business and politics it should never raise its head as it has proven to be the down fall of many companies and countries.

This City is being given a second chance to place itself in the lime light of the Global map it has an opportunity to sparkle brightly among the great Cities throughout North America and again in some European countries.

However as in the  mid 60’s I believe mediocrity will be the stummbling point and demise of the New Arena thus taking Edmonton off the Global stage and plunge it into a 2nd rate status which I believe Edmonton will never recover from and eventually be a City with a million Plus citizens and always be known as a second rate operation using the Moto Shoulda Coulda Woulda. It will become  a Global Ghost town where people will flock to in order to take a tour of the Tar sands projects.

Someone once stated that History will repeat itself we just never know when and how severly. Edmonton’s attitude and mediocrity will be the death knull of the new arena project and its position on the World Stage and become the laughing stock and 2nd rate .

I thank you for reading and passing on these thoughts, I am really scared that we will blow this second chance, as there are those who believe we can stand on our past reputation and achievements. This style of thinking is evident in the lack of foresight being exercised in the re-development of our Down town and numerous new arteries which have just been opened and have faced major repairs due to the poor planning and lack of foresight on the part of our Civic leaders who have been elected to run our City

Why would I celebrate the death of a beautiful country filled with those who cared about each other cared about what they had cared about what laid ahead in the future? They used common sense, personal intelligence and a belief that we all should look after each other. Why would I celebrate the death of common sense brought about so those who existed in countries who did not know what caring and sharing meant could bring their beliefs to my country (Canada) to destroy what was by demanding ( under the protection of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms) to have what they thought was right when it was here for the taking, without this so called protection (Charter of Rights and Freedoms signed into power in 1981)?.
Why would I celebrate the demise of a proud nation filled with people who cared who believed and built a nation the rest of the world wanted to be a part of? Why would I celebrate the death of Canada I knew as a young man? Why would I celebrate what was legislated away from me, the right to use common sense and think about the well being of my fellow Canadians? If we are to Celebrate then lets celebrate the rebirth of common sense and applaud the government for ignoring this sham. Our nation our Culture the freedoms our forefathers fought so hard and died for during the Second World War are being literally stripped from us under the guise of a Charter supposedly written to protect our culture and freedoms that were dearly paid for. World War 2 was fought to stop an evil movement which fostered the suppression of people their freedoms of belief, speech and most importantly reasoning.

The World has and still fears a third World War because of the possibility of Nuclear involvement I believe there is a different enemy among us already fighting an all out war and we are sometimes oblivious to it in the name of being (politically correct). This enemy is using a different set of weapons, weapons and skills so honed they appear to be normal everyday parts of their lives.These weapons are disguised as pieces of their culture which naturally are a part of their belief systems and everyday lives.  

Now as a law abiding nation of peoples (Canadians) who before 1981 used common sense, personal beliefs and the will of a nation and its people to build a Country everybody in the World wanted to be a part of, now because of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms passed in 1981 are in a War as serious as the one fought in Europe against the Nazi suppression of that era. The difference being the enemy of that day was visible carried a rifle and was willing to kill for what they believed in. Today the enemy is not visible and uses our laws and freedoms as weapons against our beliefs culture and the very basis of what truly made Canada a place where the rest of the World wanted to come to and believe me if push came to shove would kill for what they believe in, its only our laws for now that prevent that. There are many battles being fought on many different levels and fronts each small and at the moment insignificant but as time goes by will become more significant and dangerous to the errosion of our Countries standards, laws  cultural and religious beliefs.

The greatest weapon being used against us has quietly but effectively been put in place and is called being “Politically Correct” in the name of not insullting or offending our fellow Citizens. I remember the day when I could speak to my neighbor and state what was in my mind whether it was politics or religious belief without there being any offending or insult because I was expressing a personal opinion to a fellow human being who perhaps had a different view point. It was understood that as a free individual I was entitled to believe what I wanted and was able to state those beliefs openly and without recourse.   

Today for me to write or speak what I really believe would put me in a precarious position with those enforcing the Charter of Rights and Freedoms because I may have offended or insulted someone. This is an example of how much freedom  we as a nation and people have lost since 1981 to an ill thought out piece of legislation that supposedly was going to protect our culture and freedoms. We just handed those wanting to suppress our rights and freedoms a weapon that could be used against us to bring about what guns and war couldn’t. Our desire to believe that all mankind wants to live in a free nation that would allow them rights has opened the door for those who desire to rule through suppression (perhaps not immediately but over time)  will occur and if we don’t wake soon to this fact it may occur quicker than we know, that day appears to be just around the corner as the foundation and basis of our laws are now being challenged as being sufficient to deal with the beliefs of the many cultures which have permeated our Society of today. Set aside the politics and look at what is happening to us as a nation a people a culture wake up Canadians wake up we have been asleep too long wake up.

My Wife Bunnie Marie dedicated it to me and when I heard it knew I had to share my feelings not only with her but with whoever would take the time to read this Blog.

On the 28th of May 2011 Bunnie (her given Christian name) and I will celebrate our 20th year of marriage. Most of you are probably thinking “Oh”, here comes another sappy mushy love story, not at all. What I am about to reveal on this site about our relationship is from the heart. I am adding this part, so you can understand my side of the story and why I love my wife as deeply as I do and why I would never abandon her or the vow I spoke to her when we became one.
As I sat in the surgeons office (1996) listening to him tell Bunnie she needed an operation or she was going to die, I realized what I had commited to when i said “I Will” It became clear to me that a part of me was in jeapordy and might be facing death. So when I heard Bunnie ask the Surgeon to explain the odds to her about whether this operation was going to be successful or not and after his explanation hearing Bunnie emphatically saying there was not going to be an operation and that she could live with her mistake if there was going to be one but could not live with the surgeons mistake if it occurred I completely understood what “I Will” meant to me right at that moment. Which I further understood when the surgeon turned to me and ordered me to take control of my wife and order her to have this operation, again I was brought to the understanding that a part of me was in Jeapordy and might die and the question came to me what was I prepared to do. I heard myself telling the surgeon that Bunnie’s body was hers and that what ever she decided to do I would stand behind and support her 100% no matter what her decision was but I had no say in this and the choice was her’s and he knew her position. You bet we have had some ups and downs in the last 5-6 years, but one thing I believe, neither one of us lost sight of “What” “I will” really meant to us, now here it might get a bit sappy and mushy because I am still very much in love with Bunnie and will do whatever it takes to make sure she is properly cared for.

Shortly after Bunnie was in a wheel chair I was confronted by a stranger who asked me “Why do I stay with Bunnie” in her present condition? That is when I realized what “I Will” had done to me that no matter what I was going to be there for Bunnie because as it is said two become one here was living proof that I was as much a part of her life and the dilemmeas as she was as much a part of my life and the dilemmeas in it. The way I see it Bunnie is the best part of who I have become and will end up to be. Sweet Heart I love you and will till my last breath and I promised to care for you and I will do everything I can to keep that promise because you see all I really am doing is looking after that which is a part of me. So when you Stand By Me as I Stand By you we complete the saying when two become one which is the strongest bond there can be which can never be defeated or truly broken if honored as it was meant to be. Love ya Babe.

I would like to say that I had the intelligence to have written this speech unfortunately I did not. However I can state that I agree with everything it states and stands for. What a World we would live in if we all just adopted these policies in everyday life. Then someone poked me and I woke up but I pray you will take the time to read and pass on.

A Speech Every Canadian High School Principal Should Give
If every school principal gave this speech at the beginning of the next school year, Canada would be a better place.

To the students and faculty of our high school:

I am your new principal, and honoured to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.

I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in Canada have worked against you, against your teachers and against our country.

First, this school will no longer honour race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or when your ancestors arrived here or how they got her.

The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity — your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is Canadian. This is a Canadian public school, and Canadian public schools were created to make better Canadians.

If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity-, race- and non-Canadian nationality-based celebrations. They undermine Canadian values.

This includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language, religion, sexual orientation or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness.

Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism — an unhealthy preoccupation with the self — while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, carpentry and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interesting in are those based on ethnic, racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.

Second, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor, everything in this school will reflect learning’s elevated status. This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for Hollywood events than for church or school. These people have their priorities backward. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.

Third, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school’s property — whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can’t speak without using the f-word, you can’t speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the CRTC, plus epithets such as the N-word that rhymes with trigger even when used by one black student to address another black, or the b-word that rhymes with witch even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few your age to instinctively distinguish between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.

Fourth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way — the way people attained it until decided otherwise a generation ago — by earning it. One immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.

Fifth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda. No more time will devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming. No more semesters will be devoted to condom wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue. There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual or not Christian. We will have failed if any one of you graduates this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately lucky — to be alive and to be a Canadian.

Now, please stand and join me in the singing of Oh Canada. As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you.

Having just endured the hassles of clearing the Airport Security I settle into my seat at the window and prepared to be lifted into the skies and was dreaming of the beach. Then it hit me how am I getting to the hotel “Oh yes” there is going to be a pre-arranged private car waiting for me when I land. You see a friend of mine recommended Robert saying he had used Robert’s World Wide booking service and was amazed on how much it added to his trip.  My friend John like my self and many others always drove to the airport and used the Park and ride shuttle and rented a car at the destination airport or used the hotel supplied shuttle. 

Now John had described to me that Robert set up a private car to meet him when he arrived   which took him to the hotel in style. John related to me how he began relaxing on the plane because he figured it out that his holiday started when he stepped on the plane no worries no hassles.

To make things even more appealing Robert had arranged for a concierge to meet John at his Hotel with some ideas about how to find the cultural things to do and enjoy. They met every morning for breakfast where John received a breakdown of different things to see or activities to become involved in, what areas to be wary of and areas to just simply stay away from. John was guided to beaches that were amazingly clean and open, he found shops and restaurants that were off the beaten path but provided him with a real taste of the culture and the local foods.

By now I was looking forward to arriving not so much that I was excited to get away from the grind and weather but was anticipating having some sun and fun that was going to allow me to relax but enjoy as well.

Once I cleared customs and walked through a set of doors into the airport lobby I saw my name and acknowledged the driver who immediately took my luggage and escorted me to the awaiting car. My holiday had begun and I knew what John was taking about .

I can tell you that my trip home was just as exciting as the trip to the Caribbean, my next trip is to Europe for a rail tour I have made all the arrangements with Robert because he made it happen for me, I finally had a vacation I could call a vacation. I didn’t even mind that I was heading back to Edmonton where the temperature was in the -30 C range.

“Oh” by the way I forgot to mention that Robert was waiting for me with a cold bottle of water and a warm comfortable car to take me to my residence. I hope your holidays Will Happen like mine just did, and something I forgot to mention the coffee Robert had for me when he picked me up in the wee hours of the morning, that set the stage for my very personal holiday.
