PRE-AMBLE by Robert

As my journey leads me along the narrow path through this life as a pilgrim, a sense of peace has come over me, recognizing I’m not alone. My stride is sure, demonstrating confidence, but not an arrogant strut. It shows determination, supported by knowledge, wisdom, and discernment received from the Holy Spirit to arrive at the destination of Eternal Life and Peace.

My question, will I be an essential companion as I journey? Pondering, am I worthy of travelling with this companion? Understanding, only a few will recognize, who my companion is, and why, He continues being at my side, even though I am a constant challenge to Him. What comes to mind is a quote from my article “GET BEHIND ME SATAN” published June 14, 2018. Matthew Henry (1662 – 1774) commentary reveals “What many don’t realize the disciples committed many mistakes and were guilty of weaknesses, they were defective in their duty.  They were very dull and forgetful. And often blundered. Yet their master passes all by and forgets it, he does not upbraid them with their infirmities. But gives them this memorable testimonial, “You are they who have continued with me.” Thus does he praise at parting, to show how willing he is to make the best of those whose hearts he knows to be upright with him.”

Now understanding the peacefulness in my life, even though, I’m surrounded by turmoil, unrest, and despair among those I’m reaching out too. What is being unveiled, by Yeshua, as my companion, is how to be as He is, “an unseen companion.” Who has lit the way to freedom, then align’s himself behind the scenes as a spiritual mentor and ongoing guide through the Holy Spirit as a messenger to those journeying through life on the narrow path. “Thus does he praise at parting, to show how willing he is to make the best of those whose hearts he knows to be upright with him.”

This article will introduce and reveal as a sower of God’s word, love, and compassion we the “Modern Day Disciples” can be an ongoing “shepherd” as [is] Yeshua our unseen “companion” always there always ready.

Father in heaven hear my prayers as I lay your servants before your throne. I ask you, Lord, as an unseen companion, to raise your children up when they might stumble and fall. To Be there as our Father when times are filled with turmoil, but more than anything Lord show your children the depth of your love and compassion as you journey with them. In little ways, Father let them, sense or feel your presence, as they go forward in your name searching for that one lost soul. So they might be filled with the confidence they are covered and blessed. Bring them before your throne Lord that they might see your reflection and recognize what a silent companion is to them a shepherd tending his flock. We pray in your name Yeshua Amen and Amen.

The Holy Spirit brought me to John 10, to understand and discern, what my silent companion was offering. And if I chose to follow in His footsteps, what would be expected of me, to offer as a silent companion.

In John10 Matthew Henry (1662 -1774) explains how Yeshua revealed His walk for those who desire to follow in His footsteps. “Our Lord laid not his life down for his doctrine, but for his sheep.” He described the gracious disposition and happy state of his sheep; they heard and believed his word, followed him as his faithful disciples, and none of them should perish; for the Son and the Father were one. Thus he was able to defend his sheep against all their enemies, which proves that he claimed Divine power and perfection equally with the Father. No weapon formed against our Lord Yeshua (Jesus), shall prosper. He escaped, not because he was afraid to suffer, but because his hour has not come. And He who knew how to deliver himself knows how to deliver the godly out of their temptations, and to make a way for them to escape.

Here is a parable or similitude, from the customs of the East, in the management of sheep. Men, as creatures depending on their Creator, are called the sheep of his pasture. The Assembly of God in the world is as a sheep-fold, exposed to deceivers and persecutors. The great Shepherd of the sheep knows all that is his, guards them by his providence, guides them by his Spirit and word, and goes before them, as the Eastern shepherds went before their sheep. To set them in the way of his steps. Shepherds must serve the sheep in their spiritual concerns. The Spirit of Christ will set before them an open door. The sheep of Yeshua will observe their Shepherd, and be cautious and shy of strangers, who would draw them from faith in him to fancies about him. Many who hear the word of Christ, do not understand it, because they will not. But we shall find one scripture expounding another, and the blessed Spirit making known the blessed Yeshua. Yeshua is the Door. And what greater security has the Assembly of God than that Yeshua is between it and all its enemies? He is a door open for passage and communication.

Here are plain directions how to come into the fold; we must come in by Yeshua. By faith in him as the great Mediator between God and man. Also, we have precious promises to those that observe this direction. Yeshua has all that care of his Assembly, and every believer, which a good shepherd has of his flock; and he expects the Assembly, and every believer, to wait on him, and to keep in his pasture.

Adam Clarke (1760 -1832) through his comments on John10:9 explains what our duty as a silent companion will look like as a shepherd. “Go in and out- This phrase, in the style of the Hebrews, points out all the actions of a man’s life, and the liberty he has of acting, or not acting. A good shepherd conducts his flock to the fields where good pasturage is to be found, watches over them while there, and brings them back again and secures them in the fold. So he, that is taught and called of God, feeds the flock with those truths of his word of grace which nourish them unto eternal life. And God blesses together both the shepherd and the sheep, so that going out and coming in they find pasture. Every occurrence is made useful to them, and all things work together for their good.

The modern-day hirelings posing as pastors ought to remember that whoever boasts of being the way of salvation, and the gate of heaven, shows himself to be a thief and an impostor.

And though few have arrived at this degree of folly, yet there are many who rely too much upon their own talents, eloquence, and labours, as if the salvation of the sheep depend necessarily thereon. In which respect they are always robbers since they rob the grace of Yeshua of the glory of saving the sheep.

God often puts such hirelings to shame, by not opening the hearts of the people to receive their word. While he blesses those who are humble, in causing them to be heard with attention and accompanying their preaching with an unction which converts and saves souls. Let every man know that in this respect his sufficiency and success are of the Lord.

Heavenly Father in all humbleness we bow before your throne filled with overwhelming gratitude for your patient teaching. Thank you, Lord, for raising us to a new level of discernment, love, and compassion. Thank you, Father, for revealing our value and worth to those who have been rescued into your flock and thank you for placing your guiding hand on us to nurture them forward as a shepherd having the spirit of your Son Yeshua for us to guide and nourish those in the flock as silent companions. Praise God for having some months ago heard His call to return to His law. To sit down and do an assessment of our walk and relationship with Yeshua. Here we are now learning how to be as Yeshua, is with us, a silent companion.

Today I placed my foot in Yeshua’s second footprint and what I was shown brought me to complete humility. The Holy Spirit revealed why Yahweh was calling us out of the worldly churches and their delusional walk. What became apparent was the Worldly churches have some knowledge of Scripture and some knowledge of Yeshua’s walk but really have no real understanding of the love and compassion Yahweh has for His children.  What is being passed to parishioners has no real depth to it no reasoning, no solid content, which brought me to fully understand why I loved Yeshua as deeply as I have.

My thinking brought me to know what Spiros Zodhiates, Th.D. related “how by looking at nature, one can observe God is indeed all-powerful, but creation does not necessarily reveal that He is an all-loving God of righteousness and justice. There is only so much of God one can know from God’s creation. However, to know the essence of God as a triune Deity one needs to receive His revelation by faith“.  

Reality set in ” I didn’t clearly understand what my walk was about nor did I fully understand what work Yahweh was performing in me through His Son Yeshua and the Holy Spirit.”  

I am doing the audit Yahweh called me to do, I’m revealing myself and the things in my walk which are out of line, and the Holy Spirit revealed I really don’t know as much as I believe I do.  

What became apparent Yahweh called us out to measure our walk, and through Yeshua and the Holy Spirit learn what we don’t understand and teach us how to gain what we are missing in our steps, to fully appreciate the depth of Yahweh’s love.  

We are being brought to a point individually, where each of us is going to realize just how much we don’t know about God’s love and how far we need to go to actually draw closer to Him in that love.  

In other words, we have just been Spiritually chastised by Yahweh and shown how important we are in God’s eyes. Is it possible complacency has blinded us to what we have fallen into as a walk and relationship with Yeshua? Have we become so famous in our own minds we like the Israelites who were led out of Egypt, have been subjected to repeating the same form of sin, believing in our own minds what we are following is righteous in God’s eyes? 

Remember that thou was a servant, and God brought thee out. Deuteronomy 5:15 

“Wow,” newly found spiritual freedom with a flood of feelings as well a mental rush to recognize and accept, that in my previous walk it was not realized I was a servant to Evil. My last journey was leading me away from walking in God’s Laws and Covenants.

Like the Israelites who through, their Exodus were freed from Service to Egypt as slaves, we have just experienced a similar Exodus, not as slaves, however as unknowing captives to an evil ideology.

Just think, what must have gone through their minds, when they first left Egypt, leaving everything they saw as comfort, to follow Moses through the wilderness (Exodus 13:18). So in comparison, we have chosen to leave all we perceived as comfortable to go forward into a form of spiritual wilderness which is allowing us to search our walk, commitment, faith, find and improve our walk and relationships with God and His Son Yeshua. 

Let’s look at the similarity, recognize, God brought the Israelites through the wilderness to rid them of generations of idol worshippers of Baal, Moab, Aphrodite, and other pagan beliefs taken up and adopted during their period of slavery.

I am not suggesting Yahweh will do that with us. However, I am noting by having us go through a spiritual form of wilderness while stepping into Yeshua’s footprint. Many of our shortcomings will be revealed, assisting in removing them from our walkthrough, as well, allowing us to discover the depth of God’s love while drawing us closer to Yeshua, the Holy Spirit and through their teachings drawing us deeper into Yahweh’s Love, strengthening our re-enforced connection to our Father in heaven.  

Matthew Henry’s comments about Exodus 14 explain how God protected the Israelites, as they prepared to cross the Red Sea, reveals the knowledge, we must have to never doubt God’s presence and protection. “The angel of God, whose ministry was made use of in the pillar of cloud and fire, went from before the camp of Israel. Where they did not now need a guide (there was no danger of missing their way through the sea, nor needed they any other word of command than to go forward), and it came behind them where now they needed a guard.“ 

Through Matthew Henry’s commentary, I recognized God was placing Yeshua and the Holy Spirit before us like the pillar to guide, protect and teach, showing it is our responsibility like the Israelites to continue moving forward spiritually to gain the rewards promised through living within God’s laws, love and compassion.  

Now knowing and being reassured, moving forward is important, the Israelites now understood the promised Land and covenants from God, so moving forward would become easier, but not without trials and tribulations, but always under the guidance and protection of Yeshua and the Holy Spirit. 

The big question “What did God mean by follow my Laws”? What comes to mind, the Ten Commandments, and in that, I further question because we walk under Salvation, not the Law.

Not so quick, Yeshua, from the Sermon on the Mount explains in Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the Law or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. v18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled. 

In looking for further understanding, I am drawing from Matthew Henry’s commentary which explains v17 and v18 “Let not the pious Jews, who have an affection for the Law and the prophets, fear that I come to destroy them.” The Saviour of souls is the destroyer of nothing but the works of the devil, of nothing that comes from God, much less of those excellent dictates which we have from Moses and the prophets. No, he came to fulfill them. That is, [1] to obey the commandments of the law, for he was made under the law. Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, made of woman, made under the law, 

It is clear what God is saying when he calls for us to follow His rules. Bishop Tillotson comments “he did not make void, but make right, the ceremonial law, and manifested himself to be the Substance of all those shadows. To fill up the defects of it, and so to complete and perfect it.” 

Of course, I’m going to hear feedback like, I know all this stuff, why are you reviewing in such detail? To answer accurately, like the Israelites, who God took through the wilderness for 40 years, removing those who continued to follow Baal, Moab, and other false religions as well those who murmured which would include those who follow the God is just Love movement.  

God has asked us to remove ourselves from false teachings, God doesn’t want us going through 40 yrs. of cleansing, is giving us a chance to seriously look at our walk and return to Him.

Some will attempt to walk in both camps because they believe they know better and can do what they believe is right. My reminder if you follow God then follow God if you follow Baal then follow Baal there is no middle ground it’s one or the other. Keep in mind you cannot Cope with God’s teachings you must deal with them.

Here is where the Holy Spirit is working overtime reminding me how much I don’t understand and is desiring for me to begin listening. He leads me to Deuteronomy 12:3-4 In the commentaries Matthew Henry reveals  V.3: “And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of place. V.4: Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.” Further, in his comments, Matthew Henry relates, which I believe is very important and possibly would be missed by many “To prevent a revolt to false gods, we are forbidden to worship the true God in such a manner as the false gods were worshiped in .” 

The Holy Spirit placed the first commandment on my heart now when I read Matthew Henry’s comments not to worship God in the same manner as we did in the Worldly Churches. It appeared difficult as the Worldly Churches even though in error have adopted similar characteristics as a spirit-filled church.

However, I recognize the Worldly Church is missing the love God puts in His laws because the Holy Spirit is not there to teach about that love and the followers in those churches will not receive God’s promises or the covenants. Even though they rationalize they will and justify their position we see in Luke 13:25-27 When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut to the door, and all of you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence all of you are: 13:26 Then shall all of you begi n to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets. 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence all of you are; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.

The Worldly Church sees God’s laws as guidelines to perform within. Whereas the Holy Spirit filled church sees God’s Law as a way to recognize and understand the depth and the promises they bring if followed.  What comes to mind is expressed through this prayer in Luke 11:2-4 “And he said unto them. When ye pray, say. Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” 

I am sure we all recognize the commitment God has for us and, the love which supports that commitment. Which if we understand, accept and walk-in, we will extend that love to those who pass through our lives, if even for only a moment.

God is demonstrating through prayer, how He is sharing that love through His forgiveness of our sins. But how for us as well to share that love by asking for forgiveness for others we spread His Love even further. It is in these actions of caring gentleness and compassion God’s Love is deepened.

Through God’s love, His children are being provided, for, daily, which demonstrates how we might through sharing God’s love, do the same for those who surround us daily by showing compassion and praying for their spiritual and physical needs.

We should recognize there is a hedge of protection around us, always keeping us safe, through His love which brings knowledge and draws us out of those moments of temptation, to be a brat.

We all have that “when nobody is looking, moment” and need God’s love to overcome those temptations due to knowing God is watching because He does love us. Now, I understand why “Thou shalt have none other Gods before me.” God wants to pour his love into me into my spirit, soul and whole being so I might be a beacon for others to see how much love God has for them.

The First Commandment now makes a whole lot more sense, I don’t see it as just a directive to worship God and only God and no other God. Yes, that is what He is commanding, however, I now have a distinct perspective and understanding of what I believe my Father in heaven really wants from all His beloved children.

In desiring to have all His children, saved and unsaved, an opportunity to receive His love. The Holy Spirit placed this piece of inspiration in my heart some three years ago which I shared but never fully understood what it represented till now, It’s Titled                    

 “RECEIVING GODS LOVE.” 

People pass through our lives, their life crosses over around and finally through. We know them as friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, daughters, sons, wives’ husbands, acquaintances or just someone we casually meet each fills a small detail leaving a mark or memory. Through their appearance, they were small pieces of Love, Joy, Fulfillment, a Question or Answer, a Statement or just a Word. Which stays with us as a part of our lives needed to complete our life’s’ journey sharing those little parts of ourselves as God’s messenger crossing through others lives in order to share those parts of us meant for them through God’s Love. 

I have always maintained that no one enters our lives by chance. I firmly believe all are lead into it for a purpose which we are not aware of and may never find out. But what we have gained from God to share with them will be there, and they will receive it whether it’s something we say or do it will be passed on.  

This writing has passed through your life, and a small part of it will remain to nurture answer or fulfill some of your needs as Gods Love.  THOU SHALT HAVE NONE OTHER GODS BEFORE ME. Why would I want to have any other God before me My heart is filled with God’s Love? I have His promises and covenants to receive if I stay in His Love and obey Him as my Father Loving and Chaste

Thank you, Father, for revealing our value and worth to those who have been rescued into your flock and thank you for placing your guiding hand on us to nurture them forward as a shepherd having the spirit of your Son Yeshua for us to guide and nourish those in the flock as silent companions.
