IS DEATH A CARNAL MAN’S GREATEST FEAR? DO MEN FEAR DEATH BECAUSE OF THE UNKNOWN OR BECAUSE OF THEIR REFUSAL OF OUR LORD’S MAJESTY? 

PERHAPS, MAN’S FEAR OF DEATH IS THE BUILDING BLOCK TO HIS DEFIANT NATURE TOWARDS SERVING YAHWEH FULLY!

OBSERVATION!

A SPIRITUALLY MOTIVATED PERSON SHOULD NOT HOLD ANY FEAR OF DEATH! 

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 KJV
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) [8] We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

AND WHAT IS THE BASIS OF THIS STRENGTH WHICH DRAWS YESHUA’S FOLLOWERS FORWARD?

It is well there is a day coming, when (as it follows here, Matthew 10:26) that which is hid will be brought to light

Man’s sufferings because of following in Yeshua’s footsteps are here represented by a sword and division, Matthew 10:34,35. Think not that I am come to send peace, temporal peace and outward prosperity many thought Christ came to give all of his followers, wealth and power, in the world “no,” says Christ, “I did not come with a view to give them peace peace in heaven they may be sure of, but not peace on earth”

Christ came to give us peace with God, peace in our consciences, peace with our brethren, but in the world you shall have tribulation.

Note, many mistake the design of the gospel, thinking their profession of it will secure them from tribulations; for it will certainly expose them to, the trouble of this world.

OBSERVATION!

IN THE TITLE I SUGGESTED WE LEARN ABOUT A DIFFERENT FORM OF FEAR! 

Mark 16:16 KJV
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

THAT OF GOD’S MAJESTIC ABILITIES WHICH MOTIVATES TO FOLLOW THE NARROW PATH DESPITE TRIBULATIONS!

Here is what the fear of God brings as the result of our obedience which reveals much to all!

These hard things Christ’s disciples must suffer, (1) From men (Matthew 10:17) “Beware of men you will have need to stand upon your guard, even against those who are of the same nature with you”–such is the depravity and degeneracy of that nature (homo homini lupus,–man is a wolf to man), crafty and politic as men, but cruel and barbarous as beasts, and wholly divested of the thing called humanity.

Note, Persecuting rage and enmity turn men into brutes, into devils. All who are designed for heaven hereafter are wrought or prepared for heaven while they are here; the stones of that spiritual building and temple above are squared and fashioned here below.

And he that hath wrought us for this is God, because nothing less than a divine power can make a soul partaker of a divine nature; no hand less than the hand of God can work us for this thing. A great deal is to be done to prepare our souls for heaven, and that preparation of the heart is from the Lord

(2) The earnest of the Spirit gave them this assurance: for an earnest is part of payment, and secures the full payment.

The present graces and comforts of the Spirit are earnest of everlasting grace and comfort.
