GOD’S KNOWLEDGE REAL AND HIDDEN! ARE YOU A PART OF BOTH?

WHAT PART OF GOD’S  KNOWLEDGE DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT PROVIDE? HOW DOES HE DELIVER THAT KNOWLEDGE?

Matthew 11:28 KJV
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

OBSERVATION!

In all of our approaches to God, by praise as well as by prayer, it is good for us to eye God as a Father, and to fasten on that relationship, not only when we ask for the mercies we need, but when we give thanks for the mercies we have received.

Mercies are then doubly sweet, and powerful to enlarge the heart in praise, when they are received as tokens of a Father’s love, and gifts of a Father’s hand! Giving thanks to the Father, Colossians 1:12.

It becomes children to be grateful, and to say, Thank you, father, as readily as, Prayer to our Father!

COMMENTARY OFFERED BY MATTHEW HENRY (1662-1714).

The difference between the prudent and the babes is of God’s own making [1] It is he that has hid these things from the wise and prudent he gave them parts, and learning, and much of human understanding above others, and they were proud of that, and rested in it, and looked no further and therefore God justly denies them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, and then, though they hear the sound of the gospel tidings, they are to them as a strange thing.

God is not the Author of their ignorance and error, but he leaves them to themselves, and their sin becomes their punishment, and the Lord is righteous in it. See Rom 11:7,8 Acts 28:26,27.

Had they honoured God with the wisdom and prudence they had, he would have given them the knowledge of these better things but because they served their lusts with them, he has hid their hearts from this understanding

[2] It is he who has revealed them unto babes. Things revealed belong to our children (Deuteronomy 29:29), and to them he gives an understanding to receive these things, and the impressions of them. Thus he resists the proud and gives grace to the humble, James 4:6.

OBSERVATION

We as his children must honour with all of our hearts this covenant made between us and Yahewa our Heavenly Father!

Yeshua brings the knowledge of the covenant before us through the Holy Spirit.

We like the Israelites, Moses set his covenant before must individually honour it!

This requires us to be sincere and serious, humble and reverent, in our covenant transactions with God, remembering how great a God he is with whom we are covenanting, who has a perfect knowledge of us and an absolute dominion over us.

Even children are capable of being taken into covenant with God, and are to be admitted with their parents. Children, so young, as to be carried in arms, must be brought to Christ, and shall be blessed by him, for of such was and is the kingdom of God.

Here in Deuteronomy 29:15 our legitimacy as adopted children into the Covenant God puts before us as his adopted children!

One of the Chaldee paraphrasts reads it, All the generations that have been from the first days of the world, and all that shall arise to the end of the whole world, stand with us here this day.

And so, taking this covenant as a typical dispensation of the covenant of grace, it is a noble testimony to the Mediator of that covenant, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

There will always  be a chosen remnant of believing Israelites, who will obtain righteousness and life by faith in Jesus Christ, Romans 11:1-7.

These are said to be such as he foreknew (Romans 11:2), that is, had thoughts of love to, before the world was for whom he thus foreknew he did predestinate here lies the ground of the difference.

They are called the election (Romans 11:7), that is, the elect, God’s chosen ones, whom he calls the election, because that which first distinguished them, is that which dignifies them above others is God’s electing love.

Believers are the election, all those and those only whom God hath chosen. In times of general apostasy, there is usually a remnant that keeps their integrity–some, though but a few all do not go one way.

That when there is a remnant that keep their integrity in times of general apostasy it is God who reserves to himself that remnant.

COMMENTARY OFFERED BY MATTHEW HENRY (1662-1714).

Let us learn hence, in the management of all our worldly affairs, and in our prayers to God for success in them, to see that our ends be right.

When men follow their worldly business (suppose them tradesmen or husbandmen), and ask God for prosperity, but do not receive what we ask for, it is because we ask with wrong aims and intentions.

We ask God to give us success in our callings or undertakings not that we may glorify our heavenly Father and do good with what we have, but that we may consume it upon our our lusts–that we may be enabled to eat better meat, and drink better drink, and wear better clothes, and so gratify our pride, vanity, and voluptuousness.

But, if we thus seek the things of this world, it is just in God to deny them whereas, if we seek anything that we may serve God with it, we may expect he will either give us what we seek or give us hearts to be content without it, and give opportunities of serving and glorifying him some other way.

OBSERVATION!

Through this knowledge what stands out which must never enter into our thought process is “INORDINATE DESIRES!” They are either a total disappointment or can’t be appeased or satisfied, even when your desires are obtained!

You would find this conscious knowledge, worldly and fleshly lustful things will not allow contentment or satisfaction in your mind!

What is accomplished here is your exclusion of prayer and your working of your desires towards God!

In closing you will find yourself in this condition!

“You fight and war, yet you have not, because you ask not.

You fight, and do not succeed, because you do not pray you do not consult God in your undertakings, whether he will allow of them or not and you do not commit your way to him, and make known your requests to him, but follow your own corrupt views and inclinations: therefore you meet with continual disappointment!”

If there is any knowledge the Holy Spirit can convey through this sharing of this new tool ( unfettered truth) in your arsenal, note this: you may believe you’re being honest about assessing your walk, take another look! Worldly people are here called adulterers and adulteresses, because of their perfidiousness of God, while they give their best affections to the world. Covetousness is elsewhere called idolatry, and it is here called adultery it is a forsaking of him to whom we are devoted and espoused, to cleave to other things there is this brand put upon worldly-mindedness–that it is enmity to God.

A man may have a competent portion of the good things of this life, and yet may keep himself in the love of God but he who sets his heart upon the world, who places his happiness in it, and will conform himself to it, and do any thing rather than lose its friendship, he is an enemy to God it is constructive treason and rebellion against God to set the world upon his throne in our hearts. Whosoever therefore is the friend of the world is the enemy of God.

He who will act upon this principle, to keep the smiles of the world, and to have its continual friendship, cannot but show himself, in spirit, and in his actions too, an enemy to God. You cannot serve God and mammon, Matthew 6:24.

I am called to remind all it is between us and God how we see our commitment to our covenant with Yahweh and Yeshua! The question here is it with all your love, soul, and strength 100% of your time!

Meaning are you offering all your best?

NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS!

The Father has delivered his all into the hands of the Lord Jesus let us but deliver our all into his hand and the work is done

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen in the name of Jehovah Jireh our provider of all things righteous and Holy!
