SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION
Matthew 6:24 KJV
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
OBSERVATION!
Worldly-mindedness is a common and fatal symptom of hypocrisy, for by no sin can Satan have a surer and faster hold of the soul, under the cloak of a profession of religion.
The worldly man is wrong in his first principle; therefore, all his reasonings and actions going forward must be wrong. It is equally to be applied to false religion; that which is deemed light is thick darkness. This is an awful but common case; we should therefore carefully examine our leading principles by the word of God, with earnest prayer for the teaching of the Holy Spirit.
Man will attempt some service to two masters, but he can only devote himself to the service of no more than one. Yahewa requires the whole heart and will not share it with the world. Mark 12:30 KJV
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
COMMENTARY!
Something the soul will have, which it looks upon as the best thing; in which it has pleasure and confidence above other things. Yeshua counsels to make our best things the joys and glories of the world to come, those things not seen which are eternal, and to place our happiness in them. There are treasures in heaven.
Scarcely is there any sin against which our Lord Yeshua more warned his disciples than disquieting, distracting, distrustful cares about the things of this life.
Many today are failing to heed this warning from Yeshua and have allowed their human compassion to lead them into marketing charity in the name of Yeshua. In vain seeking after the worlds basics of life, food, shelter, and clothing. Thus, forsaking the very promise Yeshua reveals in
Matthew 6:25 KJV
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
The things of the world may be desired and possessed for the uses and purposes that God intended and are to be used by his grace and to his glory. However, they should never become the focal point of man’s comfort. Believers must not seek or value them for those purposes to which sin abuses them.
The comforts of the world draw the heart from God; and the more the love of the comforts of the world prevail, the more the love of God decays.
The comforts of the world can be classified according to these three ruling inclinations of a deceived nature
1. The lust of the flesh, of the body: wrong desires of the heart, the appetite of indulging all things that excite and inflame sensual pleasures
2. The lust of the eyes: the eyes are delighted with riches and rich possessions; this is the lust of covetousness
3. The pride of life: a vain man craves the grandeur and pomp of a vain-glorious life; this includes thirst after honour and applause.
You can use these three ruling inclinations to identify whether there is an embracing of the worlds comforts in your lives over the teachings and leading of the Holy Spirit!
Nothing is more uncertain than worldly wealth. Those who are rich, must see that God gives them their riches; and he only can give to enjoy them richly; for many have riches, but enjoy them poorly, not having a heart to use them.
Embracing the comforts of the world to fully, will draw a believers heart away from walking in the embrace and leadership of the Holy Spirit. What is the best estate worth, more than as it gives opportunity of doing the more good?
Showing faith in Christ by fruits of love, let us lay hold on eternal life, when the self-indulgent, covetous, and ungodly around, lift up their eyes in torment. That learning which opposes the truth of the gospel is not true science or real knowledge, or it would approve the gospel, and consent to it.
Those who advance reason ( worldly comforts) above faith are in danger of leaving faith. Grace includes all that is good, and grace is an earnest, a beginning of glory; wherever God gives grace, he will give glory. This is the true form of comfort believers should be seeking.
When the Apostles had to deal with the Gentiles of their time, they had to set right their mistakes in natural religion. Compare their conduct and declaration with the false opinions of those who think the worship of a God, under any name, or in any manner, is equally acceptable to the Lord Almighty.
The most powerful arguments, the most earnest and affectionate addresses, even with miracles, are scarcely enough to keep men from absurdities and abominations; much less can they, without special grace, turn the hearts of sinners to God and to holiness.
The same approach applies today when we approach those believers caught up in the comforts of the world. We must compare their conduct and declaration with the false opinions of those who think the worship of a God, under any name, or in any manner, is equally acceptable to the Lord Almighty.
So strong is the bent of the corrupt and carnal heart, that as it is with great difficulty that men are kept back from evil on one side, so it is with great ease they are persuaded to evil on the other side.
Thus, men who easily submit to strong delusions, hate to receive the truth in the love of it. All who are converted need to be confirmed in the faith; all who are planted need to be rooted.
It is an act of worship. The praise of all the little good we do at any time, must be ascribed to God; for it is He who not only worketh in us both to will and to do, but also worketh with us to make what we do successful. This is the comfort all believers should be seeking.
All who love our Lord Yeshua will rejoice to hear that he has opened the door of faith wide to those who were strangers to him and to his salvation. And let us, like the apostles, abide with those who know and love the Lord.

[3]Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
[4]But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen in the name of Jehovah Jireh our provider of all things righteous and Holy!
