HOW IS IT THAT MANY WHO SEEK ETERNAL LIFE AND FIND THE LIGHT OF LIFE EXCEPT YESHUA’S INVITATION TO FOLLOW AND THEN WHEN FACED WITH A COMMITMENT FALTER! IS IT THE THOUGHT OF ALL THE SPLENDOR SPOKEN OF, IS THAT WHICH DREW YOUR RESPONSE TO ANSWER THE LORD’S CALL OR IS IT THE KNOWLEDGE THAT WE SPIRITUALLY WILL BE REUNITED WITH YAHEWA?

Christ’s testimony concerning their knowledge made them more sensible of their ignorance, and more inquisitive after further light.

Thomas here shows more modesty than Peter, who thought he could follow Christ now. Peter was more solicitous to know whither Christ went.

Thomas here, though he complains that he did not know this, yet seems more solicitous to know the way. Now, (1) His confession of his ignorance was commendable enough.

If good men be in the dark, and know but in part, yet they are willing to own their defects. But, (2) The cause of his ignorance was culpable. They knew not whither Christ went, because they dreamed of a temporal kingdom in external pomp and power, and doted upon this, notwithstanding what he had said again and again to the contrary.

Hence it was that, when Christ spoke of going away and their following him, their fancy ran upon his going to some remarkable city or other, Bethlehem, or Nazareth, or Capernaum, or some of the cities of the Gentiles, as David to Hebron, there to be anointed king, and to restore the kingdom to Israel and which way this place lay, where these castles in the air were to be built, east, west, north, or south, they could not tell, and therefore knew not the way.

Thus still we think ourselves more in the dark than we need be concerning the future state of the church, because we expect its worldly prosperity, whereas it is spiritual advancement that the promise points at.

Had Thomas understood, as he might have done, that Christ was going to the invisible world, the world of spirits, to which spiritual things only have a reference, he would not have said, Lord, we do not know the way.

OBSERVATION!

What I’m referencing here is our ability to discern what our Lord is calling us to sacrifice in obedience to his call during these days of preparation!

Are you able to hear and discern what our Lord is asking you to perform physically in the best interests of your spirituality, as an act of obedience?

For example my wife and I listened to this Watchman’s warning (which I am posting the link to, further into the post) and heard his Trumpet Call and discerned there was a subtle connection to the world we had in our home which needed to be destroyed fully and removed!

Through prayer, the Holy Spirit revealed what it was, and we immediately began the process of discarding this specific collection, which if we maintained it, would continue as a spiritual cord binding us to the world through its content!

Satan’s subtle hook was to look at how much you’ve invested don’t destroy its contents sell it and regain some of your investment! Which would be an act of rebellion just like Saul!

Now here is where I reference how we could have like Saul fallen out of favor with God!

1 Samuel 15:3
[3]Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

1 Samuel 15:16,20-21
[16]Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
[20]And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
[21]But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.

1 Samuel 15:16,23
[16]Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
[23]For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Here, is the warning I spoke of in this link, listen and discern what specific message the Lord is revealing to you as each warning is specific to each child of God! Have an ear to hear and an obedient spirit to heed as I call you to remember Ezekiel 33:4,9
[4]Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
[9]Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

And Saul abided in his iniquity till he died due to disobedience!
