Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

WHEN WE COME TO SALVATION WE KNOW THAT OUR LORD HAS BEEN ACCEPTED AS OUR LIVES CHANGE! WE ARE NO LONGER CITIZENS OF THE WORLD OR BOUND TO ITS UNIVERSAL LAWS! SO WHEN WE SURRENDER OUR SERVICE AND SOULS TO YESHUA HOW DO WE KNOW WE HAVE FULLY SURRENDERED?

SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!

John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

OBSERVATION!

To answer the question we must determine what it is we are surrendering and why; to fully comprehend the amount of courage, faith, and trust that will be expected of us to step out of our perceived comforts, luxuries, and self control over our life!

In order for me to illustrate this we must become a part of a very sincere conversation between a fully surrendered individual and Satan!

I must set the scene here! The individual who has fully surrendered has pulled away from all the dependency on the world’s wisdom and medical advice and care offered through attending doctors and has stopped using his prescribed medications to deal with type 2 diabetes!

He is now fully relying on his faith and trust in Yeshua’s promises as there are multiple infirmities to be dealt with! Arthritis, spot on the left lung, fatty liver, and a weak bladder which he attributes to old age! And has turned all these infirmities over to our Lord!

Psalms 91:4
[4]He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

When we pick up this conversation we hear Satan suggesting that this action will have dire consequences for Robert’s life!

Robert’s response, It is Written, if I truly am fully surrendered to the Lord, then I must exercise my faith and trust in what Yeshua has promised and the spiritual covenant Yahewa is offering in Psalm 91:1-2
[1]He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
[2]I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Which to me means if I am fully surrendered and living in and by faith and trust, and I believe the last five words of verse 2, then if I turn to the world for help in any form, I will be doubting the promise!

Matthew 14:29-30 KJV
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. [30] But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

I, like Peter  recognize that I would be filled with doubt and not fully surrendering!

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Then Satan states are you not tempting our Lord by placing yourself at risk of death!

Robert then relates It Is Written, as having surrendered control of my life fully to Yeshua, I know that I have no control over my days within that life and that my time in that life has been placed in our Lord’s hands, confirming, He was always in control, and I have now relinquished that control to our Lord’s will!

Psalms 91:1-2,15-16
[2]I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
[15]He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
[16]With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

And now having awareness that I’m being blessed with long life; accept that only our Heavenly Father Yahweh knows when my spirit and soul will be called home!

Matthew 24:36 KJV
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

And in pondering this knowledge I stand on my faith and trust in Yahewa.

Satan states Why do you not believe doctors know how to assist and cure?

Robert relates It Is Written, our Lord Yeshua’s words that those fully surrendered do not need a physician. But those who walk with doubt and fears call on the world’s wisdom to sustain control over their personal realm!

Luke 5:31-32 KJV
And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. [32] I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

COMMENTARY OFFERED BY MATTHEW HENRY (1664-1714) Here is a wonder of grace indeed, that Christ undertakes to be the Physician of souls distempered by sin, and ready to die of the distemper (he is a Healer by office, Luke 5:31)– that he has a particular regard to the sick, to sinners as his patients, convinced awakened sinners, that see their need of the Physician–that he came to call sinners, the worst of sinners, to repentance, and to assure them of pardon, upon repentance, Luke 5:32. These are glad tidings of great joy indeed.

OBSERVATION

It appears many proceed through life in a state of delusion unaware of the circumstances they will face!

What we do ignorantly is a less crime than what we do knowingly; yet a sin of ignorance is a sin, for he that knew not his Master’s will, but did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes, Luke 12:48.

Ignorance in some cases will extenuate a crime, though it do not take it away.

Unbelief is at the bottom of what sinners do ignorantly; they do not believe God’s threatenings, otherwise they could not do as they do.

Those who put away a good conscience will soon make a shipwreck of faith. Let us live up to the directions of a renewed enlightened conscience, and keep conscience void of offence (Acts 24:16), a conscience not debauched by any vice or sin, and this will be a means of preserving us sound in the faith; we must look to the one as well as the other, for the mystery of the faith must be held in a pure conscience, 1 Timothy 3:9.

COMMENTARY OFFERED BY MATTHEW HENRY (1664-1714).

Note, The mystery of faith is best held in a pure conscience. The practical love of truth is the most powerful preservative from error and delusion. If we keep a pure conscience (take heed of everything that debauches conscience, and draws us away from God), this will preserve in our souls the mystery of faith.

CLOSING OBSERVATION!

I offer the following as a template of information to know in your heart you have surrendered!

It is the character of a true believer that he dwells in the secret place of the Most High he is at home in God, returns to God, and reposes in him as his rest he acquaints himself with inward religion, and makes heart-work of the service of God, worships within the veil, and loves to be alone with God, to converse with him in solitude 

It is the privilege and comfort of those that do so that they abide under the shadow of the Almighty He shelters them, and comes between them and everything that would annoy them, whether storm or sunshine.

They shall not only have an admittance, but a residence, under God’s protection he will be their rest and refuge forever.

r he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
