EACH PERSON HAS A GENERAL IDEA OF WHAT BEING CONTENT MEANS! HOWEVER, WHEN WE PONDER IT INDIVIDUALLY THAT PERCEPTION CHANGES DRASTICALLY!
THOSE WHO HAVE CONFORMED TO THE WORLD WILL FIND THREE FACTORS WILL INFLUENCE THEIR THOUGHT PROCESS! GREED, POWER AND PERSONAL STABILITY!
SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!
2 Corinthians 5:6-7 KJV
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
OBSERVATION!
Here we are again looking at the importance of the first seven words of Romans 12:2
[2]And be not conformed to this world:
It is difficult to not bring those first seven words forward if we are going to discern our position on whether we are fully content with what Yeshua is providing!
The eight words in 2 Corinthians 5:7 set the stage for our heart-felt assessment on our level of contentment!
My reference points here, are the three stumbling blocks aforementioned! Greed, Power, and Personal Stability!
It becomes apparent, that if in any form there is conformance to the world, then one or possibly all three will be influence factors!
During their assessment, many will discover that Personal Stability is the basis for doubt being in their hearts! And will cling to this factor as in their eyes family is important, however, it draws you away from faith and into sight (the worldly concept of stability)
I desire to clarify the important role 2 Corinthians 5:7 plays in our efforts and recognition of not conforming to the world and the actual depth of influence it plays in your walk!
Which exposes you to the three temptations of doubt!
The following is quoted from “Matthew Henry’s (1662-1714) commentary on 2 Corinthians. 5:7!
Let us take notice, (1) What heaven is in the eye and hope of a believer.
He looks upon it as a house, or habitation, a dwelling place, a resting place, a hiding place, our Father’s house, where there are many mansions, and our everlasting home.
It is a house in the heavens, in that high and holy place which far excels all the palaces of this earth as the heavens are high above the earth.
It is a building of God, whose builder and maker is God, and therefore is worthy of its author; the happiness of the future state is what God hath prepared for those that love him.
It is eternal in the heavens, everlasting habitations, not like the earthly tabernacles, the poor cottages of clay in which our souls now dwell, which are moldering and decaying, and whose foundations are in the dust
(2) When it is expected this happiness shall be enjoyed – immediately after death, so soon as our house of this earthly tabernacle is dissolved.
Note, [1] That the body, this earthly house, is but a tabernacle, that must be dissolved shortly; the nails or pins will be drawn, and the cords be loosed, and then the body will return to dust as it was
[2] When this comes to pass, then comes the house not made with hands. The spirit returns to God who gave it, and such as have walked with God here shall dwell with God forever.
OBSERVATION!
It also gives you a perspective of what harm you are inflicting into your walk by rationalizing and justifying your position in conformance to the world!
This quote has brought forward an opportunity to recognize what your compromise is, [that your walk] is by sight and not by and in faith!
We also note in the commentary the emphasis of walking with Yeshua! Matthew 5:8 KJV
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
COMMENTARY!
Blessedness is the thing which men pretend to pursue Who will make us to see good? Psalms 4:6.
But most mistake the end, and form a wrong notion of happiness and then no wonder that they miss the way they choose their own delusions, and court a shadow.
The general opinion is, Blessed are they that are rich, and great, and honourable in the world they spend their days in mirth, and their years in pleasure they eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and carry all before them with a high hand, and have every sheaf bowing to their sheaf happy the people that is in such a case and their designs, aims, and purposes are accordingly they bless the covetous (Psalms 10:3) they will be rich.
Now our Lord Jesus comes to correct this fundamental error, to advance a new hypothesis, and to give us quite another notion of blessedness and blessed people, which, however paradoxical it may appear to those who are prejudiced, yet is in itself, and appears to be to all who are savingly enlightened, a rule and doctrine of eternal truth and certainty, by which we must shortly be judged.
If this, therefore, be the beginning of Christ’s doctrine, the beginning of a Christian’s practice must be to take his measures of happiness from those maxims, and to direct his pursuits accordingly.
OBSERVATION!
It is designed to remove the discouragements of the weak and poor who receive the gospel, by assuring them that his gospel did not make those only happy that were eminent in gifts, graces, comforts, and usefulness but that even the least in the kingdom of heaven, whose heart was upright with God, was happy in the honours and privileges of that kingdom.
It is designed to settle and sum up the articles of agreement between God and man. The scope of the divine revelation is to let us know what God expects from us, and what we may then expect from him and no where is this more fully set forth in a few words than here, nor with a more exact reference to each other and this is that gospel which we are required to believe for what is faith but a conformity to these characters, and a dependence upon these promises? The way to happiness is here opened, and made a highway (Isaiah 35:8) and this coming from the mouth of Jesus Christ, it is intimated that from him, and by him, we are to receive both the seed and the fruit, both the grace required, and the glory promised.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen in the name of Jehovah Jireh our provider of all things righteous and Holy!
