WHO MIGHT I BE YOKED WITH IS IT LIGHT OR DARKNESS?

SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!

2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

COMMENTARY!

Though we cannot wholly avoid seeing and hearing, and being with such, yet we should never choose them for friends.

We must not defile ourselves by converse with those who defile themselves with sin. Come out from the workers of iniquity and separate from their vain and sinful pleasures and pursuits; from all conformity to the corruptions of this present evil world.

If it be an envied privilege to be the son or daughter of an earthly prince, who can express the dignity and happiness of being sons and daughters of the Almighty?

OBSERVATION!

When I first read this verse a very sincere thought came to me as a question. If we are not to be a part of their lives, then how would we be able to witness to them about salvation and the freedom it offers?

What the Holy Spirit revealed was interesting in that it called me to ponder and discern this verse in regards to my question.

1 Corinthians 14:7 KJV
And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

As I pondered this verse it became clear to speak words that have no meaning to those who hear them, is but speaking into the air.

So speaking, which has no meaning; in this case, speaker and hearers are then barbarians to each other.

Matthew 13:13 KJV
Therefore, speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

But are we not to share the word of God? With that question then the Holy Spirit brought this forward to ponder and discern, yes it is by hearing we learn of Yeshua’s teachings, but we tend to take the importance of this next point for granted. As chosen individuals, we should be seen as being peculiar and, as such, separated from them

1 Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

All true Christians are a chosen generation; they make one family, a people separated from the world: of another spirit, principle, and practice; which they could never be, if they were not chosen in Christ to be such, and sanctified by his Spirit.

Our demonstration, which those of the world will recognize and understand, that we are different and as such distinct from them. Because of our conduct and guided devotions to be separated from that which does not support our having peace, comfort, and ongoing stability.

When he comes to judge the world, he will redeem all that are his from their troubles. So fully did the Divine judgements come upon the Jews, that their city is set as an example before us, to show that sins will not pass unpunished; and that the terrors of the Lord, and his threatenings against impenitent sinners, will all come to pass, even as his word was true, and his wrath great upon Jerusalem.

He cautions them against being secure and sensual. This command is given to all of Christ’s disciples, Take heed to yourselves, that ye be not overpowered by temptations, nor betrayed by your own corruptions.

We cannot be safe if we are carnally secure. Our danger is, lest the day of death and of judgment should come upon us when we are not prepared. So, when we are called to meet our Lord, that be the furthest from our thoughts, which ought to be nearest our hearts. For so it will come upon the most of men, who dwell upon the earth, and mind earthly things only, and have no conversation with heaven. It will be a terror and a destruction to them.

Here see what should be our aim, that we may be accounted worthy to escape all those things; that when the judgements of God are abroad, we may not be in the common calamity, or it may not be that to us which it is to others.

A proper understanding of the evil of sin and of the mystery of a crucified Saviour, will enable us to perceive the justice of God in all his punishments, temporal and eternal.

Here is my closing statement, as received from the Holy Spirit as part of our conscience speaking to us in a manner that leaves the option to accept or deny. Here is a strict caution against all friendship and fellowship with idols and idolaters.

Those who are in communion with God must have no communication with the unfruitful works of darkness.

CHOOSE WISELY KNOWING THE TRUTH THAT THE CHOICE IS YOURS ALONE!

Matthew 16:12 KJV
Then, they understood how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen.
