SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!

1 Kings 18:21 KJV.
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

COMMENTARY!

Elijah proposed to bring the matter to a trial. Baal had all the outward advantages, but the event encourages all God’s witnesses and advocates never to fear the face of man.

The God that answers by fire, let him be God: the atonement was to be made by sacrifice before the judgment could be removed in mercy.

The God therefore that has power to pardon sin, and to signify it by consuming the sin-offering, must needs be the God that can relieve from the calamity. God never required his worshippers to honour him in the manner of the worshippers of Baal; but the service of the devil, though sometimes it pleases and pampers the body, yet, in other things, really is cruel to it, as in envy and drunkenness.

God requires that we mortify our lusts and corruptions; but bodily penances and severities are no pleasure to him. Who has required these things at your hands?

A few words uttered in assured faith, and with fervent affection for the glory of God, and love to the souls of men, or thirstings after the Lord’s image and his favour, form the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous man, which availeth much.

Elijah sought not his own glory but that of God, for the good of the people. The people are all agreed, convinced, and satisfied; Jehovah, he is the God.

Some, we hope, had their hearts turned, but most of them were convinced only, not converted. Blessed are they that have not seen what these saw, yet have believed, and have been wrought upon by it, more than they that saw it.

OBSERVATION!

Worldly-mindedness is a common and fatal symptom of hypocrisy, for by no sin can Satan have a surer and faster hold of the soul, under the cloak of a profession of religion.

When those professing to love our Lord and attempt to blend the world’s wisdom with the teachings of Yeshua they remain in the world as one convinced but not obtaining conversion  into a newborn spirit and lifted from the darkness into the freedom offered as Salvation.

You will say how dare you judge me, and  I will  reply, does a messenger judge, or provide wisdom for you to act upon. I make no apologies for what I share as a Watchman, and say to you that time is becoming shorter as our Lord’s return is fast approaching, and no one knows the time as only Gods righteous will be lifted into the cloud’s  so be ready. 

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

As this warning is the calm needed before the lifting out, it is a time to bring your temple and walk into the light of freedom and life. It is time to truly honor our Lord’s sacrifice and bring our walk out of the darkness of the world.

I will stand by my statement. If you doubt our Lord’s promises, and conform to the world, do you truly believe you are converted and worshipping Yahewa with all your heart?

Romans 12:2
[2]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Psalms 1:1
[1]Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

I call you to set aside all your accepted rationalizations you’re using to justify unwittingly  remaining in the service of Satan. As sometimes it pleases and pampers the body, yet, in other things, really is cruel to it, as in envy and drunkenness, continual sicknesses, plagues, having the days of your journey unto an eternal life stolen away, or not recognizing that great effort on your part is made to worship. That your faith is not deepening nor your trust in the promises and your reliance on worldly wisdom makes you vulnerable to false teachings, causes you to take priority of the world’s wisdom,  over Yahewa’s  wisdom  and turning in prayer for all things.

Believing in your mind, you’re in control of your life and have been converted!

I suggest this scenario was played out once before, and those who cling to this rationale will meet a similar fate.

Because, when you’re converted, it becomes your daily quest to seek and honor our Lord. Your prayers are lifted daily in thanks for all the blessings you receive daily.

Romans 12:3
[3]For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Good health, full-time employment, a comfortable abode, sufficient sustenance, ability to weather all the trials and tribulations our Lord allows to be set before you, strength to deal with Satan’s temptations, and having peace in your heart while facing those trials, and being gifted with a long life so you can continue serving and sharing what Yeshua has placed in your heart as your task.

Colossians 1:10 KJV
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

When you take the time to honestly assess your walk, you might find you have been convinced about Yeshua offering salvation,  but in reality, have not been converted into a new spiritual life!

“Wow,” what a slap in the face that would be! Well, sometimes it takes a jolt like that to awaken those sleep walking to hell.

For those still caught in the grasp of darkness here is a question and comparison I am going to place before you.

It is our wisdom to give all diligence to make our title to eternal life sure through Jesus Christ, and to look on all things here below, as not worthy to be compared with it, and to be content with nothing short of it.

It is happiness above and beyond the changes and chances of time, an inheritance incorruptible.

The worldly man is wrong in his first principle; therefore, all his reasonings and actions therefrom must be wrong. It is equally to be applied to false religion; that which is deemed light is thick darkness.

This is an awful but a common case; we should therefore carefully examine our leading principles by the word of God, with earnest prayer for the teaching of his Spirit.
