Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

OUR PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we place before your throne, our spirit and soul, which you have filled with your living water and light. We thank you, Lord, for all that has been bestowed upon us your strength, courage, patience, wisdom, understanding, and discernment. As we stand on you as our rock, we ask Father for your guidance that we may use these tools to bring forward your everlasting love and compassion. Guide us, Father, that we may be your living examples so those trapped in the darkness of evil may see your greatness. Use us so they may look at our demonstration of placing them before your throne Father, so they may hear the truth through our prayers of praise and exaltations of your love bringing joy, peace, health and extended life into our journey to eternity and our togetherness with you Yeshua. This we pray in your name, Father. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen.

COMMENTARY!

We should be aware of our own infirmities, and think humbly of ourselves, even when men reproach us. The work of the ministry is a spiritual warfare with spiritual enemies, and for spiritual purposes. Outward force is not the method of the gospel, but strong persuasions, by the power of truth and the meekness of wisdom. Conscience is accountable to God only; and people must be persuaded to God and their duty, not driven by force. Thus the weapons of our warfare are very powerful; the evidence of truth is convincing. What opposition is made against the gospel, by the powers of sin and Satan in the hearts of men! But observe the conquest the word of God gains. The appointed means, however feeble they appear to some, will be mighty through God.

It pleased him, by the foolishness of preaching, to save them that believe. By the foolishness of preaching; not by what could justly be called foolish preaching. But the thing preached was foolishness to wordly-wise men. The gospel ever was, and ever will be, foolishness to all in the road to destruction. The message of Christ, plainly delivered, ever has been a sure touchstone by which men may learn what road they are travelling. But the despised doctrine of salvation by faith in a crucified Saviour, God in human nature, purchasing the church with his own blood, to save multitudes, even all that believe, from ignorance, delusion, and vice, has been blessed in every age. And the weakest instruments God uses, are stronger in their effects, than the strongest men can use. Not that there is foolishness or weakness in God, but what men consider as such, overcomes all their admired wisdom and strength.
