SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION !

Genesis 6:3 KJV
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

COMMENTARY!

So, here we are in an era where man’s life expectancy is into the mid eighties. According to scientists and medical professionals, this is due to modern-day skills and man’s ability to evolve and adapt. The worldly are constantly seeking ways to find a form of immortality in this world.

As I ponder all of the prophetic events being displayed and revealed, I am asking our Lord to bring a deepening sense of discernment into my life, to understand how to overcome all of the daily trials being placed before me as His obedient servant. Then I ponder this truth that no man who believes and walks with Yeshua will desire to leave this world before his work for the Lord is done.

The enemy of all believers is the spirit of complacency and the belief that having Yeshua come into the world was for those who would just believe in Him and receive him as their Saviour would be on their way to heaven.

John 3:16
[16]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. shares with us why he sent his son as a sacrifice

Well, that cannot be disputed. Yahewa, our Father in heaven, shares why he sent a sacrifice. Jesus Christ came to save us by healing us, as the children of Israel stung with fiery serpents, were cured and lived by looking up to the brazen serpent, Numbers 21:6-9. In this, observe the deadly and destructive nature of sin.

Ask awakened consciences, ask damned sinners, they will tell you how charming soever the allurements of sin may be, in the end it bites like a serpent.

See the powerful remedy against this fatal malady. Christ is plainly set forth to us in the gospel. He whom we offended is our Peace, and the way of applying for a cure is by believing. If any so far slight either their disease by sin, or the method of cure by Christ, as not to receive Christ upon his own terms, their ruin is upon their own heads. He has said, “Look and be saved, look and live; lift up the eyes of your faith to Christ crucified.”

And until we have grace to do this, we shall not be cured but still are wounded with the stings of Satan and in a dying state. Jesus Christ came to save us by pardoning us, that we might not die by the sentence of the law. Here is the gospel, good news indeed. Here is God’s love in giving his Son for the world. God so loved the world; so, really, so richly. Behold and wonder that the great God should love such a worthless world!

Here, also, is the great gospel duty to believe in Jesus Christ. God having given him to be our Prophet, Priest, and King, we must give up ourselves to be ruled, taught, and saved by him. And here is the great gospel benefit that whoever believes in Christ shall not perish but shall have everlasting life. God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, and so saving it. It could not be saved, but through him; there is no salvation in any other.

From all this is shown the happiness of true believers; he that believeth in Christ is not condemned. Though he has been a great sinner, yet he is not dealt with according to what his sins deserve.

Ok, now let’s ponder the importance of those statements, a door has been opened, and a promise has been given that the ability to walk through that door exists. Now, we must ponder and discern the following question. Does your participation end here? I believe we are given the answer in Philippians 2:12 KJV
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

We must be diligent in the use of all the means which lead to our salvation, persevering therein to the end. With great care, lest, with all our advantages, we should come short. Work out your salvation, for it is God who worketh in you. This encourages us to do our utmost, because our labour shall not be in vain: we must still depend on the grace of God. The working of God’s grace in us is to quicken and engage our endeavors. God’s goodwill to us, is the cause of his good work in us.

Do your duty without murmurings. Do it, and do not find fault with it. Mind your work, and do not quarrel with it. By peaceableness; give no just occasion of offence. The children of God should differ from the sons of men. The more perverse others are, the more careful we should be to keep ourselves blameless and harmless. The doctrine and example of consistent believers will enlighten others, and direct their way to Christ and holiness, even as the light-house warns mariners to avoid rocks, and directs their course into the harbour. Let us try thus to shine. The gospel is the word of life, it makes known to us eternal life through Jesus Christ.
