SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!

Ephesians 6:10-12
[10]Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11]Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12]For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

OBSERVATION!

It is strange how sectors of today’s Ecclesia are having trouble recognizing our enemy when Paul identified them in Ephesians 6:12.

Then there are those who do recognize the enemy and go into battle with only a portion of God’s armor on as protection.

Our dedicated Sister Melissa Brown has brought forward important information for ALL of Yeshua’s warriors. Noting there are different depths of learning, I strongly advise all, do not let pride or arrogance  cause you to ignore this posting as it is for all walking deep within Yeshua’s teachings.

It would be wise to use this as a template, and like airplane pilots, do a prebattle check of your armor to note if it has weak spots. It is better to err on a cautious side than err and suffer a fiery Dart hit later.

MELISSA BROWN’S COMMENTARY ON A TEMPLATE OF SAFETY.

While many have heard about the Spiritual Armor spoken of in Ephesians 6, they have no idea how to apply it.
You may be surprised to learn that each piece is in constant use by the one who wears it. I have done much research and I am going to tell you how to apply it and how to keep it tightly secured.

To Armor Up!!
1. Belt of Truth
How to apply it: Scripture tells us that the word of God is truth. We are also told to speak truth. Read God’s word knowing that all of it is true. Put all your faith in that truth and speak truth.

2. Breastplate of Righteousness
How to apply it: This armor protects the heart. We can read several scriptures about how it is not what goes into the body that defiles it but what comes out through the mouth, and what comes out through the mouth is first conceived in the heart.
This piece of armor protects your heart. You make yourself constantly aware of the spiritual darkness that goes in through your ears and your eyes. These things corrupt your heart and eventually come out through your mouth. Most notably movies, music, ungodly conversations,illicit jokes, and gossip.
We must also take care to cast down offenses that can take up room inside of us and breed darkness in our hearts. By doing this, we keep the arrows of darkness from penetrating our hearts.

3. Shoes of Peace
How to apply it: We tell people the gospel, standing our ground against the many false doctrines, idols, and pagans gods that we may come up against. Bearing the good news of peace does not mean that we share a big glass of sugar water to sweeten the taste of the salty truth. If people will not hear the whole TRUE gospel, then we PEACEFULLY shake the dust from our shoes and move on.

4. Shield of Faith 
How to apply it: Because we have faith in God, we do not let any fiery darts shake us. We stand on God’s word and all of His promises against whatever the enemy throws at us.
Your shield can be joined with other believers to create a stronger barrier against the enemy.

5. Helmet of Salvation
How to apply it: Our salvation is the most precious gift given to us and the enemy is out to steal it. Our minds are the battlefield for which the enemy attempts to gain access. Each of us have unclean or ungodly thoughts daily, this is why Paul told us to take our thoughts captive and cast them down.
Your helmet stays securely fastened when you keep watch over your thoughts and you are careful to cast down all thoughts that go up against God.

6. Sword of the Spirit
How to apply it: We are told that the sword is the word of God. Christ demonstrated for us how to use it when he was tempted by Satan. We witnessed in the historical account how Satan was using scripture out of context and Christ used them in context.
The better we know the Word of God in context, the more effective our blows will be. This is why it is so important to study the word of God and memorize as much as you can.
The Word of God is used for correcting wrong thinking, for reproof, correction, teaching,and instructing the body, and for taking down strongholds.

7. Lastly
Ephesians 6:18, “With all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the holy ones.” Remain in prayer always.

CLOSING COMMENTARY!

Faith is all in all in an hour of temptation. Faith, as relying on unseen objects, receiving Christ and the benefits of redemption, and so deriving grace from him, is like a shield, a defence every way. The devil is the wicked one. Violent temptations, by which the soul is set on fire of hell, are darts Satan shoots at us. Also, hard thoughts of God, and as to ourselves. Faith applying the word of God and the grace of Christ, quenches the darts of temptation. Salvation must be our helmet. A good hope of salvation, a Scriptural expectation of victory, will purify the soul, and keep it from being defiled by Satan. To the Christian armed for defense in battle, the apostle recommends only one weapon of attack; but it is enough, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It subdues and mortifies evil desires and blasphemous thoughts as they rise within; and answers unbelief and error as they assault from without. A single text, well understood, and rightly applied, at once destroys a temptation or an objection, and subdues the most formidable adversary. Prayer must fasten all the other parts of our Christian armour. There are other duties of religion, and of our stations in the world, but we must keep up times of prayer.

CLOSING OBSERVATION!

As in receiving the word knowing how to apply it in our lives is the greatest form of complying to the first commandment.
