WHAT DOES FOLLOW ME HOLD FOR BELIEVERS?

I make this plea as a victim of vindictive so-called believers, causing Facebook to prevent my posts from being shared. My call to you if you agree with this content, please, in Yeshua’s name, share it far and wide! Blessings and peace be with you and your family!

PRELUDE: It is my duty to bring forward this information. Please note that the commentaries offered are quotes by Matthew Henry.

The Observations offered are from Robert as his commentary being one of Yeshua’s obedient Watchman (Ezekiel 33:9).

SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!

Matthew 4:19 KJV
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

OBSERVATION!

We all know this verse and what our Lord meant when He spoke it. The question I have for those who have joined our Lord’s flock. Did you realize what perils and trials Fishers of Men actually face while plying their trade.

1 John 3:13 KJV
Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Here, believers face a huge decision. What path will be followed? In  PONDER THIS! THAT YOU WILL ENCOUNTER TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS WHEN FOLLOWING YESHUA’S FOOTPRINTS ON THE NARROW PATH TO ETERNAL LIFE! We were shown that this temptation draws men to desire comforts of the world, which is the price of their souls.

In today’s posting, we are discovering that men are willing to sell their souls for the affections, praise, and worship of those in the world. Which the Holy Spirit sees as a selfish act. Satan placed this temptation before Yeshua.

Matthew 4:2-4 KJV
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. [3] And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. [4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

COMMENTARY!

Satan aimed in all his temptations, to bring Christ to sin against God.

1. He tempted him to despair of his Father’s goodness, and to distrust his Father’s care concerning him. It is one of the wiles of Satan to take advantage of our outward condition; and those who are brought into straits need to double their guard.

Christ answered all the temptations of Satan with “It is written;” to set us an example, he appealed to what was written in the Scriptures. This method we must take, when at any time we are tempted to sin. Let us learn not to take any wrong courses for our supply, when our wants are ever so pressing: in some way or other the Lord will provide

2. Satan tempted Christ to presume upon his Father’s power and protection, in a point of safety. Nor are any extremes more dangerous than despair and presumption, especially in the affairs of our souls. Satan has no objection to holy places as the scene of his assaults. Let us not, in any place, be off our watch.

OBSERVATION!

But if the Holy Spirit witnesses our being adopted as children of God, that will answer all the suggestions of the evil spirit. Christ was directed to the combat. If we presume upon our own strength and tempt the devil to tempt us, we provoke God to leave us to ourselves. Others are tempted, when drawn aside of their own lust, and enticed, James 1:14; but our Lord Jesus had no corrupt nature. Therefore, he was tempted only by the devil.

In the temptation of Yeshua, our enemy Satan revealed he is subtle, spiteful, and very daring; but we also learned he can be resisted.

It is a comfort to us that Christ suffered, being tempted; for thus, it appears that our temptations, if not yielded to, are not sins. They are afflictions only.

COMMENTARY!

The commands of God, and the dealings of his providence, try men’s hearts and show the dispositions that prevail in them. But nothing sinful in the heart or conduct can be ascribed to God.

He is not the author of the dross, though his fiery trial exposes it. Those who lay the blame of sin, either upon their constitution, or upon their condition in the world, or pretend they cannot keep from sinning, wrong God as if he were the author of sin.

Afflictions, as sent by God, are designed to draw out our graces, but not our corruptions. The origin of evil and temptation is in our own hearts. Stop the beginnings of sin, or all the evils that follow will be fully charged against us.

God has no pleasure in the death of men, as he has no hand in their sin; but both sin and misery are owing to mans decisions and actions because in their minds, they believe they are righteous.

OBSERVATION!

Ponder these verses while noting that Yeshua desires no man’s death unless he hears the truth and refuses to change.

Psalms 7:14-16
[14]Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
[15]He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
[16]His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

God gives sinners warning of their danger, and space to repent, and prevent it. He is slow to punish, and long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish.

The sinner is described, as taking more pains to ruin his soul than, if directed to the truth, would save him. This is true, in a sense, of all sinners.

CLOSING COMMENTARY!

Afflictions cannot make us miserable if it is not our own fault. The tried Christian shall be a crowned one. The crown of life is promised to all who have the love of God reigning in their hearts. Every soul that truly loves God shall have its trials in this world fully recompensed in that world above, where love is made perfect.

CLOSING OBSERVATION!

Here, we have the proud and false destroyer justly reckoned with for all his fraud and violence. The righteous God often pays sinners in their own coin. Those who, by faith humbly wait for God, shall find him gracious to them.

If God leaves us to ourselves any morning, we are undone; we must every morning commit ourselves to him and go forth in his strength to do the work of the day.

Psalms 7:17
[17]I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen.
