PRELUDE: It is my desire to share this information. Please note that the commentaries being offered are quotes taken from Matthew Henry’s book of Commentary!
The Observations being offered are commentary by Yeshua’s obedient servant Robert, as His Watchman (Ezekiel 33:9).
SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!
Proverbs 18:20-21
[20]A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
[21]Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
OBSERVATION!
Most have trouble believing that the calamities of life are brought on by what and how they speak. These verses are the foundation of what evil enters or stands against them as sin. Sin is the basis of disease and maladys in the lives of those who are not solidly based in faith!
COMMENTARY!
It is also applicable to all those who hear the word of God, and are in part reformed, but not truly converted. The unclean spirit leaves for a time, but when he returns, he finds Christ is not there to shut him out; the heart is swept by outward reformation, but garnished by preparation to comply with evil suggestions, and the man becomes a more decided enemy of the truth.
Every heart is the residence of unclean spirits, except those hearts, which are temples of the Holy Ghost, by faith in Christ.
1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
OBSERVATIONS!
James 4:3 KJV
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
The importance of discerning these aforementioned verses becomes clear. We must know that it is in faith and with a repentant heart that enters into prayer.
Discernment of what may be a lust will reveal the cause of our prayers being seen as being out of step.
It is divided faith and lustful desires that beg denials; and we may be sure that when prayers are the language of our lusts rather than of graces, they will return empty.
The Watchman’s warning to avoid all criminal friendships with this world must be perceived as doorways for sin to infect your temple. Worldly mindedness is enmity to God.
Romans 6:16 KJV
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
COMMENTARY!
Zechariah 7:13
[13]Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
An enemy may be reconciled, but “enmity” never can be reconciled. A man may have a large portion in things of this life, and yet be kept in the love of God; but he who sets his heart upon the luxuries of the world, rather than lose its comforting grasp, becomes an enemy to God.
So that anyone who resolves at all events to be upon friendly terms with the world must be the enemy of God.
OBSERVATION!
If we stand before the throne of God with a penitent broken heart, he will always hear us. Psalms 91:1-2
[1]He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
[2]I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Yet those who refuse to discern the condition of their walk and relationship with Yeshua will die impenitent and unbelieving, with no remedy or refuge from their miseries, and calamities while here; and having despised and defied our Lords ways, will not be able to bear them.
Among those who in their minds believe they are righteous and harbor the world’s comforts, and luxuries in their hearts will ponder why their prayers are not heard.
Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen!
