WHAT DOES MERCY RESTORE!

SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!

Luke 3:6 KJV
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

OBSERVATION!

By the words John preached we find the necessity of repentance, in order for the remission of sins, and the baptism of water is an outward sign of that inward cleansing and renewal of heart, which attend, or are the effects of true repentance, as well as a profession of it.

Here is the fulfilling of the Scriptures, Isaiah 40:3, in the ministry of John. When way is made for the gospel into the heart, by taking down high thoughts, and bringing them into obedience to Christ, by levelling the soul, and removing all that hinders us in the way of Christ and his grace, then preparation is made to welcome the salvation of God.

Here are general warnings and exhortations which John gave. The guilty, corrupted race of mankind has become a generation of vipers; hateful to God, and hating one another. There is no way of fleeing from the wrath to come, but by repentance; and by the change of our way, the change of our mind must be demonstrated.

If we are not really holy, both in heart and life, our profession of religion and relation to God and his church, will stand us in no stead at all; the deeper will our destruction be, if we do not bring forth fruits meet for repentance.

COMMENTARY!

All human life is warfare; the Christian life is more so; however the struggle will not last forever. Troubles are removed in love when sin is pardoned. In the great atonement of the death of Christ, the mercy of God is exercised to the glory of his justice.

In Christ, and his sufferings, true penitents receive of the Lord’s hand double for all their sins; for the satisfaction Christ made by his death was of infinite value.

Psalms 23:2-3
[2]He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
[3]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen.

Great verse and commentary by brother Robert. Luke 3:6 says, ‘And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ This is a message of hope and inclusivity, suggesting that the salvation offered by God is available to all people, not just a select few. It’s a call to recognize that everyone has the opportunity to experience God’s grace and forgiveness. It’s a powerful reminder that in the eyes of the divine, no one is left out, and everyone is valued. It’s about the universal reach of God’s love and the promise of redemption for all. Pretty uplifting, right?
