He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

COMMENTARY!

If any man desires to be truly and for ever happy, let him apply to Christ, and be ruled by him. This thirst means strong desires after spiritual blessings, which nothing else can satisfy; so the sanctifying and comforting influences of the Holy Spirit, were intended by the waters which Jesus called on them to come to Him and drink.

The comfort flows plentifully and constantly as a river; strong as a stream to bear down the opposition of doubts and fears. There is a fulness in Christ, of grace for grace. The Spirit dwelling and working in believers is as a fountain of living, running water, out of which plentiful streams flow, cooling and cleansing as water.

The miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit we do not expect, but for his more common and more valuable influences, we may apply. These streams have flowed from our glorified Redeemer, down to this age, and to the remote corners of the earth. May we be anxious to make them known to others.

Isaiah 44:3-4
[3]For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
[4]And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

Those that serve God he will own. He will help them over difficulties and in their services. Water is the emblem of the Holy Spirit; as water refreshes, cleanses, and makes the earth fruitful, so do his influences act upon the soul. This gift of the Holy Ghost is the great blessing, the plentiful pouring out of which God kept for the latter days.

Where God gives his Spirit, he will give all other blessings. Hereby shall be a great increase of the church; thus it shall be spread to distant places.

Joel 2:28
[28]And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

The Lord has placed with me this mission, too, as a messenger bring forward Yeshua’s information to strengthen the forsaking of worldly wisdom and return to your Faith and willingly receive in obedience the wisdom of heaven as the Living Water which will quench the souls thirsting for more spiritual connection with Yeshua and Yahewa.

John 14:6-7 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

I ponder on this statement, “I must work to survive in this world!”

Here is the remedy against this trouble of mind, “Believe” By believing in Christ as the Mediator between God and man, we gain comfort. The happiness of heaven is spoken of as in a father’s house. There are many mansions, for there are many sons to be brought to glory. Mansions are lasting dwellings.

Christ will be the finisher of that of which he is the Author or beginner; if he have prepared the place for us, he will prepare us for it. Christ is the sinner’s Way to the Father and to heaven, in his person as God manifest in the flesh, in his atoning sacrifice, and as our Advocate.

He is the Truth, as fulfilling all the prophecies of a Saviour; believing which, sinners come by him the Way. He is the Life, by whose life-giving Spirit the dead in sin are quickened. Nor can any man draw near God as a Father, who is not quickened by Him as the Life, and taught by Him as the Truth, to come by Him as the Way.

By Christ, as the Way, our prayers go to God, and his blessings come to us; this is the Way that leads to rest, the good old Way. He is the Resurrection and the Life. All that saw Christ by faith, saw the Father in Him.

In the light of Christ’s doctrine, they saw God as the Father of lights; and in Christ’s miracles, they saw God as the God of power. The holiness of God shone in the spotless purity of Christ’s life. We are to believe the revelation of God to man in Christ; for the works of the Redeemer show forth his own glory, and God in him.

Ephesians 1:17 KJV
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Know that within your temple is that emblem of water placed there to nurture the souls yearning for more of Yeshua.

Water is the emblem of the Holy Spirit;
