SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION!

Genesis 2:3 KJV
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

OBSERVATION!

The solemn observing of one day in seven as a day of holy rest and holy work, to God’s honour, is the duty of all to whom God has made known his holy sabbaths.

COMMENTARY!

The Christian sabbath, which we observe, is a seventh day, and in it we celebrate the rest of God the Son, and the finishing work of our redemption.

Thus grace in the soul grows not of itself in nature’s soil, but is the work of God. Rain also is the gift of God; it came not till the Lord God caused it.

Though God works by means, yet when he pleases he can do his own work without them; and though we must not tempt God in the neglect of means, we must trust God, both in the use and in the want of means.

Some way or other, God will water the plants of his own planting. Divine grace comes down like the dew, and waters those resting in Him without noise.

The soul was not made of the earth, as the body: pity then that it should cleave to the earth, and mind earthly things. To God we must shortly give an account, how we have employed these souls; and if it be found that we have lost them, though it were to gain the world, we are undone for ever! Fools despise their own souls, by caring for their bodies before their souls.

HOW I AM FURTHERING MY PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH YESHUA!

The Lord’s day is set aside for our private time with Yeshua, our interceder. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, hearing his voice blessing our Soul, and enhancing our spirit with God’s brilliant light, to be shared and guide us to remain on Yeshua’s narrow path. We find our cup is overflowing with Living water to be shared with those wandering in the desert of life, thirsting for freedom.

This is my day with God and his son, my interceder Yeshua, who knows I love him. Because I just spent my whole day resting, praying, and meditating with him.

To meditate in God’s word, is to discourse with ourselves concerning the great things contained in it, with close application of mind and fixedness of thought. We must have constant regard to the word of God, as the rule of our actions, and the spring of our comforts; and have it in our thoughts night and day. For this purpose no time is amiss.

The righteous are useful, fruitful trees: the ungodly are like the chaff which the wind drives away: the dust which is not of any use. They are of no worth in God’s account, how highly soever they may value themselves. They are easily driven to and fro by every wind of temptation.

My Sundays are a time to welcome Yeshua, and to submit to him is with my full wisdom and interest. Letting him be very dear and precious; I love him above all, love him in sincerity, love him much, as she did, to whom much was forgiven, and, in token of it, kissed his feet, Luke 7:38.

And with a kiss of loyalty take his yoke upon me, and giving up myself to be governed by his laws, disposed of by his providence, and entirely devoted to his cause.

Blessed will those be in the day of wrath, who, by trusting in Christ, have made him their Refuge.
