Ezekiel 33:9
[9]Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
OBSERVATION!
We all know the Lord works in mysterious ways. Ways that are in many cases not initially understood and at times not as we anticipate. We usually think in terms of one situation being dealt with when, in fact the Lord uses one situation to touch many areas of life through the results of one situation being dealt with!
COMMENTARY!
The things of the world may be desired and possessed for the uses and purposes which God intended, and they are to be used by his grace, and to his glory; but believers must not seek or value them for those purposes to which sin abuses them.
The world draws the heart from God; and the more the love of the world prevails, the more the love of God decays. The things of the world are classed according to the three ruling inclinations of depraved nature
1. The lust of the flesh, of the body: wrong desires of the heart, the appetite of indulging all things that excite and inflame sensual pleasures
2. The lust of the eyes: the eyes are delighted with riches and rich possessions; this is the lust of covetousness
3. The pride of life: a vain man craves the grandeur and pomp of a vain-glorious life; this includes thirst after honour and applause.
The things of the world quickly fade and die away; desire itself will ere long fail and cease, but holy affection is not like the lust that passes away. The love of God shall never fail.
Many vain efforts have been made to evade the force of this passage by limitations, distinctions, or exceptions. Many have tried to show how far we may be carnally-minded and love the world; but the plain meaning of these verses cannot easily be mistaken.
Unless this victory over the world is begun in the heart, a man has no root in himself but will fall away, or at most remain an unfruitful professor. Yet these vanities are so alluring to the corruption in our hearts that without constant watching and prayer, we cannot escape the world or obtain victory over the god and prince of it.
We should seek all our mercies by prayer. God is the God of peace, fully reconciled to believers; who has made a way for peace and reconciliation between himself and sinners, and who loves peace on earth, especially in his churches.
He is the Author of spiritual peace in the hearts and consciences of his people. How firm a covenant is that which has its foundation in the blood of the Son of God! The perfecting of the saints in every good work is the great thing desired by them, and for them; and that they may at length be fitted for the employment and happiness of heaven.
There is no good thing wrought in us, but it is the work of God. And no good thing is wrought in us by God, but through Christ, for his sake and by his Spirit. Temptations could not prevail, were it not for man’s own corruption; but true Christians make the will of God, not their own lust or desires, the rule of their lives and actions.
True conversion makes a marvellous change in the heart and life. It alters the mind, judgment, affections, and conversation. When a man is truly converted, it is very grievous to him to think how the time past of his life has been spent.
One sin draws on another. Six sins are here mentioned, which have dependence one upon another. It is a Christian’s duty, not only to keep from gross wickedness, but also from things that lead to sin, or appear evil.
The gospel had been preached to those since dead, who, by the proud and carnal judgment of wicked men, were condemned as evil-doers, some even suffering death. But being quickened to Divine life by the Holy Spirit, they lived to God as his devoted servants. Let not believers care, though the world scorns and reproaches them.
Redemption from sin and sanctification of the nature go together, and make a peculiar people unto God, free from guilt and condemnation, and purified by the Holy Spirit. It teaches to make conscience of that which is good.
We must look to God in Christ, as the object of our hope and worship. A gospel conversation must be a godly conversation. See our duty in very few words; denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, living soberly, righteously, and godly, notwithstanding all snares, temptations, corrupt examples, ill usage, and what remains of sin in the believer’s heart, with all their hinderances. It teaches to look for the glories of another world. At, and in, the glorious appearing of Christ, the blessed hope of Christians will be complete: To bring us to holiness and happiness was the end of Christ’s death.
Jesus Christ, that great God and our Saviour, who saves not only as God, much less as Man alone; but as God-man, two natures in one person. He loved us, and gave himself for us; and what can we do less than love and give up ourselves to him!
The doctrine of grace and salvation by the gospel, is for all ranks and conditions of men. It teaches to forsake sin; to have no more to do with it. An earthly, sensual conversation suits not a heavenly calling.
CLOSING COMMENTARY!
No journey is without a start and finish. Our decisions within that journey are made within what we receive as guidance through sight, and sound. Each offers information we discern as part of our foundation of life detailing our efforts to acknowledge our seeking out the light of Yeshua to enlighten the narrow path, so difficult, to find, and remain on, to complete our journey to our promised land.
Blessings Men and Women of God for bringing God’s light forward and into the lives of the lost so they may find the beginning of that narrow path.
And all of God’s children say hallelujah praise the Lord for his mercies, Amen and Amen.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen.
