SCRIPTURAL FOUNDATION!

Matthew 19:16-17 KJV
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? [17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

OUR PRAYER!

Heavenly Father, I pray you will awaken the spirits in your children to receive and discern your truths. Remove from their minds the delusional images that are corrupting their discernment. Lift the blinders from their eyes so they might see what path they have chosen to follow. Unplug the satanic filters from their ears so they might again hear your words through the Holy Spirit. Re-new their understanding and remove all false images  supporting lies that alter the truth. Bring before them Father the ability to know your Son’s eternal existence was at the beginning “intelligence” and originated everything that is, and then became the Word. I pray for this Lord in your name, Yeshua and all of God’s children said Amen and Amen.

COMMENTARY!

Christ knew that covetousness was the sin which most easily beset this young man; though he had got honestly what he possessed, yet he could not cheerfully part with it, and by this his want of sincerity was shown. Christ’s promises make his precepts easy, and his yoke pleasant and very comfortable; yet this promise was as much a trial of the young man’s faith, as the precept was of his charity and contempt of the world.

It is required of us in following Christ, that we duly attend his ordinances, strictly follow his pattern, and cheerfully submit to his disposals; and this from love to him, and in dependence on him. To sell all and give to the poor will not serve, but we are to follow Christ.

The gospel is the only remedy for lost sinners. Many abstain from gross vices who do not attend to their obligations to God. Thousands of instances of disobedience in thought, word, and deed are marked against them in the book of God. Thus numbers forsake Christ, loving this present world: they feel convictions and desires, but they depart sorrowful, perhaps trembling. It behooves us to try ourselves in these matters, for the Lord will try us.

If we speak of eternal life and the way to it, in a careless manner, we take the name of God in vain. No one will ever love God and his neighbour with any measure of pure, spiritual love, who is not made a partaker of converting grace.

But the proud heart of man strives hard against these convictions. Christ gave an instance of a poor Jew in distress, relieved by a good Samaritan. This poor man fell among thieves, who left him about to die of his wounds. He was slighted by those who should have been his friends, and was cared for by a stranger, a Samaritan, of the nation which the Jews most despised and detested, and would have no dealings with.

It is lamentable to observe how selfishness governs all ranks and how many excuses men will make to avoid trouble or expense in assisting others. But the true Christian has the law of love written in his heart. The Spirit of Christ dwells in him; Christ’s image is renewed in his soul. The parable is a beautiful explanation of the law of loving our neighbour as ourselves, without regard to nation, party, or any other distinction. It also sets forth the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward sinful, miserable men.

We were like this poor, distressed traveller. Satan, our enemy, has robbed us, and wounded us: such is the mischief sin has done us. The blessed Jesus had compassion on us.

By learning to turn to our Lord first in faith and prayer, we demonstrate the law of loving our neighbour. The love and compassion revealed glorifies the Lord who dwells with us in our temple. We do unto others as we would have done unto us.

Luke 10:33 KJV
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen.
