SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION

Matthew 26:11 KJV
For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

COMMENTARY

In this verse, who does Yeshua speak of? Is it those who walk in the world, possess little, and live a life without physical comforts and luxuries the world offers? Or is Yeshua speaking of those in the world who do not know or hold a relationship with him? Is it they who are void of the Holy Spirit and remain in darkness and as slaves to sin?

Yeshua’s, sayings are different from the men of this world! These men call the proud happy and admire the gay, the rich, the powerful, and the victorious. They believe these are the signs of richness. In fact, they prove just the opposite they reveal just how shallow and empty as well who actually is poor as they lack the Holy Spirit and are lacking in faith and trust.

Whereas when we look at those walking in a relationship with Yeshua. They are spiritually rich because they hunger and thirst after righteousness and are happy. Righteousness is here put for all spiritual blessings. These are purchased for us by the righteousness of Christ, confirmed by the faithfulness of God. Our desires of spiritual blessings must be earnest. Though all desires for grace are not grace, yet such a desire as this is a desire of God’s own raising, and he will not forsake the work of his own hands.

Now I must bring forward this information so those purusing this info will not think that I have forsaken those who are seen as physically poor and not possessing the comforts and luxuries of the world . Far from it. As our Lord is speaking about them as well Isaiah 29:19 KJV
The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

The poor in spirit are happy. These bring their minds to their condition, when it is a low condition. They are humble and lowly in their own eyes. They see their want, bewail their guilt, and thirst after a Redeemer. The kingdom of grace is of such; the kingdom of glory is for them.

However, the fact remains that those of the poor who know not the Lord will be counted as part of the walking dead and the Lord’s judgments.

The bottom line here is that through making poor choices, of who we must be totally dependent on, we could end up being a part of those lacking in spiritual guidance and find our selves poor and bowing our knee at the Altar of Baal and on the outside looking in. How is this possible?

Christ has in all our proceedings, we should seek direction in prayer; we cannot too highly prize the promises of God. Wherever and whenever we meet in the name of Christ, we should consider him as present in the midst of us. As a point here, I must remind all of the conditions laid out for us in the First Commandment. Luke 10:27 KJV
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Why am I pointing out who Yeshua was speaking about as being poor! I think the previous paragraph stated it pretty clearly, turn all your needs to God in prayer. Otherwise, you most likely will be seen as being poor and lacking in faith, trust, perhaps love,  strength, discernment, and understanding of whose altar you may be bowing your knee at. Remember, we learned the world, and everything in it is part of Satan’s Domain. When I last checked that included money received from those bowing their knee at Baals altar the living dead.

I am sure many are going to say but money is needed to pay bills. Let me remind you that God’s bank account is unlimited, and He provides to those whose hearts are willing to be  conditioned to serve as his instruments to fulfill his promises an abudance that his promises are fulfilled.

2 Chronicles 1:11 NKJV
Then God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life-but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king–

As I have been researching and studying scripture these past 52 years this verse about Solomon only asking for God’s wisdom has stayed with me. It showed me that I should never ask for money in prayer but for strength wisdom and discernment. And as seen in 1Kings 3:13 God will fulfill the first part of our prayer with wisdom so he can include treasure as well rhat we might bring it to bear where it is needed in His name.

1 Kings 3:13 NKJV
And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.

I now ask you to ponder your walk and consider who Yeshua may have been saying is poor. Could he have been speaking about those who are rationalizing its OK to call on those in the world bowing their knee at Baals altar to fulfill their spiritual needs. Rather than turning to God in faith and asking for His abundant wisdom to be with them. I am wondering who really our Lord is seeing as poorly?
