COMMENTARY!

As explained, there are two altars to select whose you will bow your knee. However, there are, as well, two ways to maintain your position at whose altar you have chosen.

1.) You can cope as Baal would suggest, by using rationalizations supported by justifications, meaning you would be unaccountable for your actions. And remain walking in what you perseve as righteousness.

Exodus 32:9 NKJV
And the LORD said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people!

Even though the Israelites had seen the invisible God in action, they still wanted the familiar gods they could see and shape into whatever image they desired. How much like them is today’s Assemblies! Our greatest temptation hasn’t changed. Many within the Ecclesia still desire to shape God to their liking, making him convenient to obey or ignore according to what rational has been chosen to be justified. I call this god a 7/11 god of convenience. The gods we create blind us to the love our loving God wants to shower on us. God cannot work in us when we elevate anyone or anything above him. What false gods in your life are preventing the true God from living in you? And we know what God did to those stiffnecked people out of 800 thousand individuals. Only two crossed the Jordan River and entered the promised land. We also know God does not change over the centuries as spoken in Luke 13:25 KJV
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: he knows the heart of all. Matthew 6:8 NKJV

2.) I could choose to be a living demonstration of what it means to bow your knee at God’s altar, to deal with life where I would gather all the information I can good and bad about my actions, recognize and accept my actions and responsibilities within my choices and decisions, and be accountable for them in the presence of God. Bottom line, I would recognize who I am actually following. I have chosen to be under God’s grace, compassion, and forgiveness.

1 Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

There are rewards offered in both walks, it’s just what price I am willing to pay to determine whose I am accepting to sustain my walk, in what is spiritually or what I brlieve is righteousness. Like Ezekiel said, if God, then be with God 100%, if Baal, then be with Baal 100%. But make a choice and let it be known.

What our Lord stated in Matthew 7:14 KJV
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Should be resonating loudly to all.

There are but two ways right and wrong, good and evil; the way to heaven and the way to hell; in the one or other of these all are walking: there is no middle place hereafter, no middle way now. All the children of men are saints or sinners, godly or ungodly.

See concerning the way of sin and sinners, that the gate is wide, and stands open. You may go in at this gate with all your lusts about you; it gives no check to appetites or passions. It is a broad way; there are many paths in it; there is a choice of sinful ways. There is a large company in this way. But what profit is there in being willing to go to hell with others because they will not go to heaven with us?

When we choose, to kneel at God’s altar, we are able to recognize why the way to eternal life is narrow. We are not in heaven as soon as we approach the strait gate. And it these recognitions which many fail at. Self must be denied, the body kept under, and corruptions mortified. Daily temptations must be resisted; duties must be done. We must watch in all things and walk with care; and we must go through much tribulation. And yet this way should invite us all;

As it leads to life: to present comfort in the favour of God, which is the life of the soul; to eternal bliss, the hope of which at the end of our way, should make all the difficulties of the road easy to us.

They would give a false opinion of Christianity, as if it were an unholy religion; while others would conclude it could afford no real satisfaction, otherwise its professors would not have been heartless in it, or so ready to seek pleasure or happiness from the world. One cause of this indifference and inconsistency in religion is, self-conceit and self-delusion; “Because thou sayest” What a difference between their thoughts of themselves, and the thoughts Christ had of them!

How careful should we be not to cheat our own souls! There are many in hell who once thought themselves far in the way to heaven. Let us beg of God that we may not be left to flatter and deceive ourselves. In conclusion, “it is your choice to be made and only your choice.”
