WHY DOES GOD PUNISH IF HE LOVES US SO MUCH?

“ROBERT’S OPEN DECLARATION!”
My position in presenting these articles is done not as a Pastor, Minister, or Teacher of God’s words. They are brought forward as messages to be discerned by those receiving them and choosing personally how to react. Scriptural foundation for their delivery Ezekiel 33:9
Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
It is with great love for all given to me by Yeshua that you are receiving them. Luke 10:16
[16]He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.  And all of God’s children say Amen and Amen.

PRELUDE: It is my desire to bring forward this information. Please note that the Commentary offered are quotes by Matthew Henry (1662-1714).

The Observations offered are from Robert (1945 – current), offering his commentary as Yeshua’s Watchman (Ezekiel 33:9).

SCRIPTURAL FOUNDATION!

Leviticus 19:15 KJV
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

COMMENTARY!

I ponder today’s society and question how many can honestly state the following is a solid description of their walk with Christ?

I ponder and question how it is a sector of our modern society, believes God is so loving he would never chastise but only forgive all sin. Romans 1:22,23

To teach real separation from the world and the flesh and an entire devotedness to God. This is now the law of Christ; may the Lord bring every thought within us into obedience to it!

Children are to be obedient to their parents, Leviticus 19:3. The fear here required includes inward reverence and esteem, outward respect and obedience, and care to please them and to make them easy.

God only is to be worshipped, Leviticus 19:4. Turn not from the true God to false ones, from the God who will make you holy and happy, to those that will deceive you, and make you forever miserable. Turn not your eyes to them, much less your heart.

They should leave the gleanings of their harvest and vintage for the poor, Leviticus 19:9. Works of piety must always be attended with works of charity, according to our ability. We must not be covetous, griping, and greedy of everything we can lay claim to, nor insist upon our right in all things.

We are to be honest and true in all our dealings, Leviticus 19:11. Whatever we have in the world, we must see that we get it honestly, for we can not be truly rich or long rich, with that which is not so.

Reverence to the sacred name of God must be shown, Leviticus 19:12.

We must not detain what belongs to another, particularly the wages of the hireling, Leviticus 19:13.

We must be tender of the credit and safety of those that cannot help themselves, Leviticus 19:14. Do no hurt to any, because they are unwilling or unable to avenge themselves. We ought to take heed of doing anything which may occasion our weak brother to fall. The fear of God should keep us from doing wrong things, though they will not expose us to men’s anger. Judges, and all in authority, are commanded to give judgment without partiality, Leviticus 19:15.

To be a tale-bearer, and to sow discord among neighbours, is as bad an office as a man can put himself into. We are to rebuke our neighbour in love, Leviticus 19:17. Rather rebuke him than hate him, for an injury done to thyself. We incur guilt by not reproving; it is hating our brother. We should say, I will do him the kindness to tell him of his faults.

We are to put off all malice, and to put on brotherly love, Leviticus 19:18. We often wrong ourselves, but we soon forgive ourselves those wrongs, and they do not at all lessen our love to ourselves; in like manner, we should love our neighbour.

We must, in many cases, deny ourselves for the good of our neighbour Leviticus 19:31:

For Christians to have their fortunes told, to use spells and charms, or the like, is a sad affront to God. They must be grossly ignorant who ask, “What harm is there in these things?”

Here is a charge to young people to show respect to the aged, Leviticus 19:32. Religion teaches good manners and obliges us to honour those to whom honour is due.

A charge was given to the Israelites to be very tender of strangers, Leviticus 19:33. Strangers and the widows and fatherless, are God’s particular care. It is at our peril, if we do them any wrong. Strangers shall be welcome to God’s grace; we should do what we can to recommend religion to them. Hebrews 13:2 KJV
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

The apostle James does not here encourage rudeness or disorder: civil respect must be paid; but never such as to influence the proceedings of Christians in disposing of the offices of the church of Christ, or in passing the censures of the church, or in any matter of religion. Questioning ourselves is of great use in every part of the holy life. Let us be more frequent in this, and in everything, take occasion to discourse with our souls.

As places of worship cannot be built or maintained without expense, it may be proper that those who contribute thereto should be accommodated accordingly; but were all persons more spiritually-minded, the poor would be treated with more attention that usually is the case in worshipping congregations. A lowly state is most favourable for inward peace and for growth in holiness.

God would give to all believers riches and honours of this world, if these would do them good, seeing that he has chosen them to be rich in faith, and made them heirs of his kingdom, which he promised to bestow on all who love him. Consider how often riches lead to vice and mischief, and what great reproaches are thrown upon God and religion, by men of wealth, power, and worldly greatness; and it will make this sin appear very sinful and foolish.

The Scripture gives as a law to love our neighbour as ourselves. This law is a royal law. It comes from the King of kings; and if Christians act unjustly, they are convicted by the law as transgressors. To think that our good deeds will atone for our bad deeds plainly puts us upon looking for another atonement.

According to the covenant of works, one breach of any one command brings a man under condemnation, from which no obedience, past, present, or future can deliver him. This shows us the happiness of those who are in Christ. We may serve him without slavish fear. God’s restraints are not a bondage, but our own corruptions are so. The doom passed upon impenitent sinners at last, will be judgment without mercy. But God deems it his glory and joy, to pardon and bless those who might justly be condemned at his tribunal; and his grace teaches those who partake of his mercy, to copy it in their conduct.

Justice in weights and measures is commanded, Leviticus 19:35.

We must make a conscience of obeying God’s precepts. We are not to pick and choose our duty, but we must aim at standing complete in all the will of God. And the nearer our lives and tempers are to the precepts of God’s law, the happier shall we be, and the happier shall we make all around us, and the better shall we adorn the gospel.

Those who profess faith in Christ as the Lord of glory, must not respect persons on account of mere outward circumstances and appearances, in a manner not agreeing with their profession of being disciples of the lowly Jesus.

Those who receive the doctrine of Christ as Divine, and, having been enlightened by the Holy Spirit, have looked well into it, see not only the plain history of Christ, and him crucified, but the deep and admirable designs of Divine wisdom therein.

It is the mystery made manifest to the saints, Colossians 1:26, though formerly hid from the heathen world; it was only shown in dark types and distant prophecies, but now is revealed and made known by the Spirit of God. Jesus Christ is the Lord of glory; a title much too great for any creature.

There are many things that people would not do if they knew the wisdom of God in the great work of redemption. There are things God hath prepared for those that love him, and wait for him, which sense cannot discover, no teaching can convey to our ears, nor can it yet enter our hearts. We must take them as they stand in the Scriptures, as God hath been pleased to reveal them to us.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. And all of God’s children said Amen and Amen.
