Matthew 21:22 KJV
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
OUR PRAYER!
Heavenly Father hear this plea on behalf of your flocks throughout your realm. Place before them, Lord your light highlighting your ongoing love. Highlighting the multiple gifts that you have bestowed. Lift from them the stigma of pride and prowess, that they may in humility raise their hands in praise and thankfulness as an acknowledgment of your answering their prayers. Fill their hearts with your peace, love, and compassion that it may be shared as your light expelling our enemies’ darkness and enslavement through their prayers. And all of God’s children said Amen and Amen.
COMMENTARY!
Christ looks for the power of religion in those who profess it, and the savour of it from those that have the show of it. His just expectations from flourishing professors are often disappointed; he comes to many, seeking fruit, and finds leaves only. A false profession commonly withers in this world, and it is the effect of Christ’s curse. The fig-tree that had no fruit, soon lost its leaves.
We should rest in no religion that does not make us fruitful in good works. Christ taught them from hence to pray in faith. It may be applied to that mighty faith with which all true Christians are endued and which does wonders in spiritual things. It justifies us and so removes mountains of guilt, never to rise up in judgment against us. It purifies the heart and so removes mountains of corruption, and makes them plain before the grace of God.
One great errand to the throne of grace is to pray for the pardon of our sins; and care about this ought to be our daily concern.
