Acts 1:13 NKJV
And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.
As I journey through this world as a pilgrim, I garner three different labels. Those of the world see me as an advocate because I use the discernment the Holy Spirit has gifted.
Those in the Ecclesia see me as a Zealot because of my dedication to our Lord and walk according to the teachings of the Holy Spirit using God’s Ten commandments as my compass to guide me as a pilgrim. So I could be as our Lord in the world but not of it. So I could share his light to those who walk as the living dead.
Those are in the best frame to receive spiritual blessings, who are in a praying frame. Christ had promised shortly to send the Holy Ghost; that promise was not to do away prayer but to quicken and encourage it. A little company united in love, exemplary in their conduct, fervent in prayer, and wisely zealous to promote the cause of Christ, are likely to increase rapidly.
Nothing more fully shows the darkness of men’s minds than that when the Light had appeared, there needed a witness to call attention to it. Christ was the true light; that great light, which deserves to be called so. By his Spirit and grace, he enlightens all that are enlightened to salvation; and those that are not enlightened by him perish in darkness. Christ was in the world when he took our nature upon him and dwelt among us. The Son of the Highest was here in this lower world. He was in the world, but not of it. He came to save a lost world because it was a world of his own making. Yet the world knew him not. When he comes as a judge, the world shall know him. Many say that they are Christ’s own, yet do not receive him because they will not part with their sins, nor have him to reign over them.
