WHY DO I PRAY?

A QUESTION
For those about to read this scripture from David in Psalms 16: 1-10. Is your trust as deep as David’s when he flew to God’s protection from the evils of the world? Is your trust in Yeshua a confident one like David’s was? (Psalms 16:1 Preserve me, O God!)

Can you pray this in the same confidence that God will keep you from sickness, death, and especially sin, to which you are continually being exposed? Can you say like David for in thee, and only in thee, do I put my trust?

How many understand it is the duty and interest of all to subject ourselves to Yeshua, who, as Adonai, signifies my commitment, and the strength of my heart. Which has to be done with our souls?

Our blessed brother in Christ, Robert Woodward, sent me this article, which I believe exemplifies this message. Good morning from Branson Mo. The temperature is 54 and the forecast high 78…

The subject is of baptisms of which there are many. The baptism of suffering for our Lord is described in Isaiah 53:5 in the fullness of our Salvation.

The baptism of death was carried in fullness at Calvary in the atonement for our sins. There is a baptism of service that is set apart for each of us.

Jesus is the prototype of us he is our example. Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan. John’s baptism is the baptisms of repentance. In simplicity Jesus was a partakers of repentance.

Remember that repentance is about a new direction, and not about sin. While Jesus had never known sin, we find that he was baptized into ministry, the purpose to which he was to born.

Remember the wedding at Cana Galilee he told his mother,  “Woman what have I to do with you, my hour has not yet come. “

As I comment, I ask because knowing that change must occur when praying. Are you honestly willing to sacrifice because change by definition is a sacrifice in order for it to happen? Our Lord describes change in Matthew 13:44 KJV
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
This is the basis of  being changed by baptism. The real cleansing of our soul and spirit. Thank you, Yahewa, for sending Yeshua to open the door for me to be cleansed and prepared for my eternal escort by your Son Yeshua into your eternal presence.

Whatever goodness is in us or is done by us, we must humbly acknowledge that it extends not to God, so we cannot pretend to merit anything by it. The reality to all of this, God has no need for our services he is not benefited by them, nor can they add anything to his infinite perfection and blessedness.

“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”- 1 John 5:19 KJV

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”- John 15:18-19 KJV

“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”- John 17:15-18 KJV

In hearing all of these teachings and by using our Holy Spirit gifted discernment, we should find the answer of “Why Do I Pray?”

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa.
