PART TWO OF ARE YOU AN ESCAPEE OR SERVANT?

Romans 13:13 NKJV – Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. ¹

When must we awaken; Now; and to awaken out of the sleep of carnal security, sloth, and negligence; out of the sleep of spiritual death, and out of the sleep of spiritual deadness. Considering our times; a busy time; a perilous time. Also, the salvation is near at hand. Let us mind our way and mend our pace, as nearer is our journey’s end. Also, to make ourselves ready.

Observe what we must put off; cast off the sinful works of darkness. Observe what we must put on and how we should dress our souls. Put on the armor of light. A Christian must reckon himself unarmed. The graces of the Spirit are this armor, to secure the soul from Satan’s temptations, and the assaults of this present evil world

The enemy uses subtle thoughts to present his temptations, causing believers to sin because of their fleshly desires. We see Satan’s purpose in Mark 4:19 KJV
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

There are many things we should know; and if we do not understand the plain truths of the gospel, how will we learn those more difficult! It helps to value the privileges we enjoy as disciples of Christ if we seriously consider the deplorable state of all who do not have these privileges.

In the church, the word of God is dispensed to all. Of the many that hear the word of God, few receive it in order to bring forth fruit. Many are affected with the word for currently but receive no abiding benefit. The word does not leave impressions upon the minds of these men because their hearts are not ready to receive it. The devil is very busy with careless hearers, as the fowls of the air eat the seed that lies above ground.

Many continue in a barren, false profession, and go down to hell. Impressions that are not deep will not last. Many do not mind heart-work, without religion is nothing. Others are hindered from profiting by the word of God by the abundance of the world. And those who have but little of the world may yet be ruined by indulging the body.

God expects and requires fruit from those who enjoy the gospel, and Christian graces exercised daily, Christian duties duly performed. Let us look to the Lord, that by his new-creating grace, our hearts may become good ground, and that the good seed of the word may produce in our lives those good words and works which are through Jesus Christ, to the praise and glory of God the Father. As we learned in 1 John 4:18 KJV
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We learned in part one that even those without the comforts and abundance of the world can be considered in the same light, as those who possess all of the world’s comforts and luxuries. It becomes clearer why Yeshua has revealed such when we earnestly study. 1 Timothy 6:9
[9]But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Those that make a trade of Christianity to serve their turn for this world will be disappointed; but those who mind it as their calling will find it has the promise of the life that now is, as well as of that which is to come.

He that is godly is sure to be happy in another world; and if contented with his condition in this world, he has enough; and all truly godly people are content. When brought into the greatest straits, we cannot be poorer than when we came into this world; a shroud, a coffin, and a grave, are all that the richest man in the world can have from all his wealth.

What I have placed before you is a warning to be discerned and acted upon. In part one, I eluded that it is your choice to decide the path you will journey upon; whether as an escapee or as a humble obedient servant.

Jesus entered into a boat so that he might not be pressed and to be better heard by the people. By this, he teaches us in the outward circumstances of worship not to covet that which is stately but to make the best of the conveniences God in his providence allots to us.

Christ taught in parables. Thereby, the things of God were made more plain and easy to those willing to be taught, and at the same time more difficult and obscure to those who were willingly ignorant. Here, recognize that you must possess the spirit of God in your heart to discern. This is only present to obedient servants who are faithfully bearing fruit while patiently waiting for the Trumpet to announce the arrival of God’s angels to collect them. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

We also recognize that those who desire an escape from God’s wrath possibly holding fear in their hearts while continuing to trust in worldly wisdom, through that fear, desire Yeshua’s early return.

We know worldly cares are great hindrances to our profiting by the word of God. The deceitfulness of riches does the mischief; they cannot be said to deceive us unless we put our trust in them, then they choke the good seed. We may find them described in Matthew 13:5-6 KJV
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: [6] And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. [7]And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

Worldly cares are a great hindrance to our profiting from the word of God. The deceitfulness of riches does the mischief; they cannot be said to deceive us unless we put our trust in them, then they choke the good seed. What distinguished the good ground was fruitfulness. By this true Christians are distinguished from hypocrites. Christ does not say that this good ground has no stones in it or no thorns; but none that could hinder its fruitfulness. All are not alike; we should aim at the highest, to bring forth most fruit. The sense of hearing cannot be better employed than in hearing God’s word, and let us look to ourselves that we may know what sort of hearers we are. An Escapee or a humble obedient servant to Yeshua.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa.
